🕊️ In Loving Memory – John Vincent DePalma 🕊️

We are saddened to share the passing of John Vincent DePalma, 82, of Perth, NY, formerly of Amsterdam. John passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

A proud Vietnam War Veteran, John served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964, aboard the USS Currituck AV-7. He was a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, deeply loved by many.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 10 at Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, officiated by Rev. Dr. John A. Califano. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service. Military honors will follow.

Please keep John’s family in your prayers during this time of loss. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

God sees you, hears you, and cares deeply about what you’re going through.

Sometimes, in the midst of trials and heartache, it can feel as though our prayers are going unheard.

But Scripture reassures us that God is close to the brokenhearted, and He never leaves us or forsakes us.

So, keep praying and trusting, even when answers don’t come immediately.

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and mighty things you do not know.”

No matter the time, no matter the need, God is always ready to listen. All we have to do is call on Him through prayer. He promises not only to answer, but to reveal things beyond what we can imagine.
