I was thinking, I know that's dangerous.... but I have been thinking about something. The past few days The Lord keeps showing me the church, moreover the body, the people, the congregation, the members. Now, what He's shown me is this. He showed me people going in and going out of the church building and going back to their lives as usual, like they lived it right before they walked in to the building. 45 minutes to an hour later you leave with no change. You can't just go to church for 45 minutes to an hour once a week, and have no change and call yourself a Christian. Going to church once a week, giving God your 45 minutes to an hour and checking it off your list of things done for that week no more makes you a Christian than going to a football game makes you a football player. Or basketball game makes you a basketball player. Just because you drive everyday doesn't mean you're a NASCAR or INDY race car driver. Or putting on a cowboy hat makes you a cowboy. More likely most "Christians" are like the lip syncer who gets up on stage and pretends to be the singer of the song. You know the difference between being real and a fake? It's the heart. It's giving your life for that lifestyle. It's practicing everyday. It's devotion. Preparing for the game. I know, I know, you say I'm being mean, and I'm being unsympathetic to you. I'm being uncaring and unloving. No, I do care and I do love you. The problem is there is no correction in the body of Christ today. We go to church. Sing three songs. Somebody gives announcements. Give an offering. Preacher preaches for 20-25 minutes because we have to be out and at lunch for noon. One more song. Prayer. Dismissal. Tell me, does that sound familiar. And then you leave and are never changed. This is not a shot at churches or Christians. I'm telling you there's MORE! MORE to being a Christian. More to this life! God has MORE for you and it's not in that building 45 to an hour once a week. I'm not saying don't go to church! I'm saying get in His word. Get on your face and pray! I'm saying tell someone what He's done for you and how He changed you! I'm saying go deeper in the Spirit. Seek Him! THEN when you go to church on Sunday you're a changed person before you go in! And when all of the changed people go in? The atmosphere is changed and electrified! And you're not dependent on the man with the microphone to feed you and make you feel better. Because guess what! It's not his job! It's his job to hear from God and bring forth the word that God gave him. You are not a baby and don't need to be fed! You feed yourself daily. Some three and four times a day. It's your job to feed yourself daily on the word of God. Not his! Yours! So anyway, this could preach all day but I won't. I'll stop right here with this... be what you call yourself. A Christian. Take up your cross and follow Him! Daily!
Think about it....with your heart. Not your head.
