🔥 What a Night at Grant Chapel AME Church! 🔥

Tonight, the Grant Chapel AME Church (GC Family) gathered around the fire for a powerful and meaningful New Year’s Eve bonfire, and what a blessing it truly was. Surrounded by prayer, worship, testimony, fellowship, and food, we took time to release what was behind us and set our hearts on what God is calling us into next.

The Word reminds us:

“Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 3:13–14 (KJV)

As the flames carried away the burdens of 2025, we were reminded that God is faithful and always doing something new. This was not just an individual moment—it was a corporate church moment. One church. One fire. One direction.

As we move into 2026, the Grant Chapel AME Church family is committed to moving forward together:
• Praying together, trusting that when God’s people pray with one accord, He moves powerfully (Acts 4:31).
• Studying together, remaining rooted and grounded in God’s Word so we grow strong and unified (Acts 2:42).
• Serving together, showing the love of Christ through action within the church and throughout our community (Galatians 5:13).

We step into this new year holding on to this promise:

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth.”
— Isaiah 43:19 (KJV)

Thank you to everyone who came out, prayed, shared, served, cooked, laughed, and loved. The fire may be out, but the vision, unity, and faith are still burning.

From the GC Family at Grant Chapel AME Church, we wish everyone a Happy New Year!
Here’s to moving forward—together.

What a powerful and joyful time we had!

The Grant-Chapel family—the GC Family—was truly blessed to host our first Sons of Allen outing, led by our local coordinator Tyrell Leathers, alongside the Greater New Orleans Greensburg District coordinator, Adron Vinning, and our 8th Episcopal District coordinator, Rev. Roger E. Robertson.

This first event—a bowling outing—was more than just fun and fellowship. It was about mentoring our young men, building brotherhood, and creating space for encouragement, laughter, and connection. The lanes were filled with joy, the conversations were meaningful, and the spirit of unity was evident.

We are excited about what God is doing and even more excited about what lies ahead. This is only the beginning as we look forward to many more Sons of Allen events throughout the 8th Episcopal District, the Louisiana–Mississippi Conference, and within our local churches.

To God be the glory for a strong start and a greater future.
Where love makes the difference—this is the Grant-Chapel GC Family in action. Love Never Fails!

What a truly blessed and meaningful time we shared during our Christmas Program with the Sons of Allen, the Young People’s and Children’s Division, and the Christian Education Department. Along with every leader, participant, and supporter, this was a beautiful example of what happens when God’s people come together in love and unity.

The theme, “You’re Not Alone,” was not just spoken—it was felt. On this 4th Sunday of Advent, centered on Love, we were reminded that Christ’s love surrounds us, walks with us, and carries us through every season of life. This message aligned perfectly with who we are as a church: the church where love makes the difference.

Special appreciation goes to the Sons of Allen for their leadership and faithfulness, to the young people and children who poured out their hearts, and to the Christian Education Department for their guidance, preparation, and vision. Every adult leader, choir member, young adult, and volunteer played a vital role in making this moment impactful and spirit-filled.

Most of all, we thank God for the movement of His presence. Jesus showed up. Love showed up. And every person—young and old—was reminded that no matter where we are or what we face, we are not alone.

The church where love makes the difference.
Serving God by serving others.

Grant Chapel AME Church bonfire Dec 2025. It was truly a joy to see adults, young adults, and children of all ages come together in fellowship, laughter, and love, all in the name of the Lord. Moments like these remind us that church is more than a building—it is family.

From the warmth of the fire to the warmth of the conversations, God’s presence was evident among us. Seeing generations gathered, smiling, sharing stories, and simply enjoying one another is a beautiful testimony of what it means to live out our faith in community.

As pastor, I am deeply thankful and humbled to be a part of such a loving and united church family. Thank you to everyone who came out, helped, and made the evening special. May we continue to build memories, strengthen relationships, and glorify God together—because where love is present, God is always at work.

Where Love Make the Difference!! GC Family,
Pastor Roger E. Robertson
