Preparing for Sunday, May 31, 2026 –

Good evening, Church Family!

What is rest? If you had to define it in less than 5 sentences, what would you say?

This week we look at Hebrews 4:1-13 and refocus on the promise of entering God’s rest. We will see what the author has in mind as he urges us to strive to enter God’s rest for those who are believing.

As we prepare for what God has to say to us, here are some passages to read (or listen to the audio reading) & some songs to sing to help us in our preparing for Sunday:

Preparing for Sunday, May 24, 2026 – Memorial Day Weekend

Good afternoon, Church Family!

Last week we looked at part 1 of Hebrews 3:7-19; and, asked “what role does the past play in the present?”. Our answer was found within Hebrews 3:7-11, by looking back at how the Hebrews of the Old Testament, under the leadership of God’s servant Moses, chose to live based on their hard hearts, rather than believing based on what God had already done before their eyes.

This week we look at part 2 of Hebrews 3:7-19, and refocus on our present situations, circumstances and decisions because of the past. How will your today be affected by yesterday?

What role do the choices, actions and events of the past play in the present? What is their role, if any, in the future? This Sunday we step back into our journey through Hebrews. In so doing, the author points his readers / hearers (and us) to events that happened as Moses was leading the Hebrews to the land God had promised.

Preparing for Sunday, May 10, 2026 – Mother’s Day!

Good afternoon, Church!

It’s Mother’s Day! Please be sure to honor your mother every day, but especially on Mother’s Day!

While not specifically a Mother’s Day message, I’m inviting you along on “A Journey Through Proverbs 3:5-6.” Some journeys are easy, others harder. Journeys are best taken with others, so let’s journey together through these verses. God’s Word is full of His promises. The one in these verses is very precious. As we explore it together on this journey, expect God to touch your heart.
