Did you know Amesbury has a smallpox cemetery in the town forest?
We can’t wait until spring to go out and document the graves marked with fieldstone for those who succumbed to smallpox. Stay tuned in 2022 for more information!

Thank you to all who came out tonight to learn about the Civil War vets buried at Mt. Prospect. Stay tuned for more events in the future!

Tonight the Amesbury Cemetery Commission shared a presentation at the Amesbury Senior Community Center about their Civil War project. They have photographed, researched service records and found most of the obituaries for the 150 Civil War soldiers buried at Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
