As many of you are aware, Nepal has experienced devastating flooding last week that swept away entire villages. Thousands of people are still missing and the death toll continues to rise. Here are a couple of photos provided by our missionaries there.

Our missions team has already approved some funds that we've sent to our missionaries the Ghimire's at Kathmandu Bible Baptist Church.

If you would like to give an offering to further help we will be sending another check to the Ghimires at the end of the month, just mark your offering envelope "Nepal."

HBC Ministry Report - Back to School Sunday

Dear HBC Family,

Sometimes ministry can just be so fun! If you missed the combined Sunday school, you missed out for everyone from kids to senior citizens laughed non stop through Steve Harney's presentation. And that he used all those fun things and illusions to present the Gospel was amazing. Of course, the kids and teens had him in their ministry areas and they had a blast at 8:30am and 11am. And the Gospel truths he illustrated in the 6pm service were great as well. We had between 550 -575 in our morning services and a record attendance of 325 in the Sunday school hour but the best part is that we likely had several salvations along the way, at least 2 at 8:30am and 2 at 11am.

This coming Wednesday, I'm teaching in the Sanctuary at 7pm and will be sharing some insights about our ministry, some things that are going great and some noticeable challenges to modern day ministry. Every era and even decade has its challenges and churches must think these things through now and then or will find themselves in decline and often ineffective.

And this next Sunday, besides starting a new morning series on 'Abundant Grace' is also our evening Church Picnic. You can come as early as 5pm for fellowship and games but the dinner is at 6pm. And if you want to make salsa for a salsa contest, have it there by 5:30pm. The church will be grilling all the animal flesh and if you want, all you need to bring is a side.
