Ambler Church of the Brethren invites you to imagine a world shaped by the words of Jesus in the well-known Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapters 5-7). We will gather at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 1, to read the teachings of Jesus recorded in Matthew and reflect on how those instructions might impact us today. Participants are welcome both in person in the sanctuary of the church, 351 E. Butler Ave. in Ambler, and online in Room V (access through amblercob.org). Come when you can; stay for as long as you are able. Readings and reflections will continue through noon; as we come to the end of chapter 7 each time, we will return to the beginning of Matthew 5 and begin again.

Did you know that the Deportation Defense Response Team provides a "Toolkit for Individuals and Congregations" which contains educational resources about immigration, prayers & reflections, ICE watch resources, know your rights resources, safety planning for churches, and more?

Drawing upon the BVS goal of advocating for justice, we encourage you to learn, raise awareness, and boldly stand as the image of Jesus in the world today.

Explore the Toolkit (find it in the list of initiatives): www.onearthpeace.org/deportation_defense_response_team

Learn more about the DDRT:
The Deportation Defense Response Team - initiated by four Church of the Brethren Districts working in partnership with On Earth Peace and the Church of the Brethren Office of Intercultural Ministries - is committed to standing alongside our siblings in Christ and our neighbors affected by this crisis.

The Team asks us to join them in providing for the needs of immigrants and refugees by sharing our resources and time, raising awareness, defending their rights, and demanding that leaders act justly.

There is a music recital in the sanctuary, so unfortunately the lift will not be available after 9:15 a.m. Sunday's seekers' Sunday school class and the worship service will be held ONLINE ONLY in Room V (access through the church website, amblercob.org)
