Today we remember and pray, may we never forget.

God, We come remembering those who lost their lives in New York, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania.

We are mindful of the sacrifice of public servants who demonstrated the greatest love of all by laying down their lives for their fellow man.

We come remembering
and we come in hope,
not in ourselves, but in you.

As foundations we once thought secure have been shaken, we are reminded of the illusion of security.

In commemorating this tragedy, we give you thanks for your presence in our lives and especially in our time of need.

A Disciple’s Prayer for our Nation

Good and gracious God, you have promised to make all things new.
Restore peace where there has been hatred.
Reduce tension where there has been anger.
Rekindle friendship where there has been enmity.
Relieve suffering where there has been violence.
Recreate a united nation dear God, for the good of all people and for the peace of the world.
We ask this as disciples of Jesus Christ, who is our true freedom.
Amen!
