When conflict arises in our most important relationships, we have a choice: turn away or turn toward.

This Sunday, we tackled one of the biggest disruptors of peace in our relationships—our tendency to physically, emotionally, and digitally distance ourselves when things get difficult. We block numbers, give the silent treatment, change friend groups, or simply avoid the hard conversations.

But, Jesus modeled something radically different. While we were still His enemies, God took the first step toward us by sending His Son. He didn't wait for us to get it right. He turned toward us in our mess.

Matthew 5:23-24 challenges us: if someone has something against you, leave your gift at the altar and go be reconciled first. Not when they come to you. Not after they apologize. YOU take the first step.

This isn't easy. It's actually easier to avoid than to address, easier to remove than to repair. But sweeping things under the rug only creates emotional distance—it resolves nothing.

Before communion Sunday, we challenged everyone to either send a reconciliation text or commit to praying for the courage to turn toward someone they've turned away from.

Who is God calling you to turn toward today? That strained friendship? That family member you've been avoiding? That coworker you've distanced yourself from?

As far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. That starts with turning toward, not away.

What's it like being on the other side of YOU? 🤔

This week, Pastor Jeff challenged us to consider how we impact others in our most important relationships. The Bible calls us to 'live at peace with everyone' (Romans 12:18) - but what does that really look like?

Key takeaways: • Peace doesn't mean being a doormat or avoiding hard conversations • It means blessing those who persecute us and not repaying evil for evil • We need Jesus to truly live this way - it's not possible on our own!

Your challenge this week: Ask someone close to you, "What's it like being on the other side of me?" Their answer might surprise you - and help you grow.

Join us next Sunday as we continue our series on building healthy, biblical relationships. Let's learn to be people of peace in a world of conflict! 🕊️

Are you tolerating sin in your life? 🤔

In Sunday’s powerful message, we explored how easily we can slip into spiritual adultery without even realizing it. When we prioritize worldly desires over God's will, we're essentially telling Him, 'I know what You want, but I don't care.'

Remember: Friendship with the world = Hostility towards God

It's time to examine our hearts and ask:
• What sins am I tolerating that need to be dealt with TODAY?
• Am I living in a way that draws me closer to God or pushes me away?

Let's make the courageous choice to say 'I'm done' to sin and recommit ourselves to the truth that Jesus is better than anything this world offers.

'Either He's Lord of all, or He's not Lord at all.'

Which will you choose? 🙏

In a world filled with division, hatred, and violence, we're called to be different.

This week's service reminded us that our true enemy isn't flesh and blood - it's the evil that seeks to divide us. As Christians, we're challenged to:

• Respond with grace, even when others don't
• Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger
• Put on compassion, kindness, and love
• Stand bold in our faith, ready to share the hope we have in Christ

Now is not the time to shrink back in fear, but to courageously live out our faith. Let's be the change our world desperately needs.

'But even if you should suffer for righteousness, you are blessed. Do not fear them or be intimidated...' - 1 Peter 3:14

Are you taking sin seriously?

In yesterday's sermon we explored the seriousness of sin and why we need to confront it in our lives:

• Sin always results in death - spiritually and ultimately physically
• We become desensitized and powerless when we tolerate sin
• The enemy has a plan to steal, kill and destroy - we must be vigilant!

When's the last time you did something drastic and decisive with the sin in your life?

This week, reflect on what excuses or justifications you use that lead you into sin. Let's commit to taking sin seriously and living in the freedom Christ offers us!

Join us next Sunday as we continue our series on "Tolerating Sin" and learn how to overcome it through God's power.
