Technology has allowed us to stay somewhat connected to the world around us, but many of us are tired of staring at tiny boxes of people on our computers.

Here is a home work that was passed on to me. Give it a try and let us know how much you enjoyed it.

Stay Active and Stay Healthy.

Had a really fun family activity passed along to us to by one of our FBC families.

A GroupMe scavenger hunt.

1st - start a GroupMe chat with some friends on the GroupMe app (other messaging apps should work)
2nd - select 10 or more items that can be found around any neighborhood. post the list in your GroupMe chat.
3rd - set a start time
4th - go around your neighborhood (on foot for more exercise) and look for the items on the scavenger hunt list.
5th - when you find an item on the list take a picture and post it the GroupMe chat.
6th - first family to find and post pictures of all items on the list in the GroupMe chat is the winner.

Happy Hunting. Stay Active and Stay Healthy.

Thanks for this great idea Emily Steckman Stowe

Yesterday we visited and explored the Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge. It is located about 30 miles south of Amarillo between Canyon and Hereford. Normally it cost $2 per car, however the driving tour is currently closed. The collection container for the money is sealed shut so for the time being it is free to just go hike the trails. We hiked 2 different trails, one was 2 miles in length and the other was half mile bird watching trail. The trails are wide and easy to walk.

Today we explored the trails at Wildcat Bluff Nature Center. They have some great trails for the casual hiker. Easy walking with very little elevation change. All trails are less than a mile in length (1 way). Great for families with younger children. There is a cost - $4 for adults and $3 for kids.

FUN, SAFE, and FREE outdoor activity...Hiking at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area. There are three different trails ranging in distance from 2.3 miles to 16.5 miles. Varying difficulties, easy, moderate, and hard.

Great for Adults, Students, and Children.

We tried the Harbor Bay Trail and loved it.
