Joining the Panhandle in praying for our volleyball coaches and athletes!
🙏🏼 A Prayer for the Start of High School Volleyball Season 🏐
Father God,
As high school volleyball begins across Texas tomorrow we come lifting up every athlete, coach, official and family to You.
We pray first for the athlete who lays in bed tonight and can't seem to fall asleep because of the nerves. Calm their heart. Replace their anxiety with the peace that only You can give. Help them rest well tonight and wake up tomorrow ready to give their very best. Remind them that who they are is so much bigger than a scoreboard, a stat sheet or a lineup card. Their identity is found in You.
We also pray for the athletes who may leave the gym this coming week disappointed. Some won't make the team they hoped for. Some won't earn the role they dreamed about. Wrap Your arms around them and remind them that one day, one decision or one season does not define who they are. You still have a purpose and a plan for their life.
We pray for the seniors stepping into leadership roles this season. Give them the courage to lead, the humility to serve and the wisdom to set an example every single day. May they make those around them better, and may the way they compete, encourage and love others point people toward You.
Lord we lift up every coach. As they make difficult decisions about teams, playing time and roles, give them wisdom, discernment and peace. Help them lead with integrity, compassion and grace. Let every conversation, even the hard ones reflect Your love.
We pray for those who do not yet know You. Use this season to draw them closer to You. Whether it's through a welcoming smile at the gym door, a teammate who encourages them, or a coach who pours into them may they experience Your love in a real and personal way.
We pray for every official who will step on the court this season. Give them wisdom, patience and protection as they serve the game. Help them lead with fairness and confidence.
Lord, we ask for Your hand of protection over every team. Keep athletes healthy and strong. Protect them from injury. Watch over every bus, every van and every family traveling to and from matches.
And Father we pray for every coach's family. Volleyball season requires long hours and countless sacrifices. Bless the spouses, children and loved ones who faithfully support from behind the scenes. May they feel Your presence, Your peace and know that their sacrifices matter too.
Above all, Lord let this season be about more than wins and losses. Let it be a season of growth, friendships, perseverance and opportunities to reflect Your goodness in every gym across Texas.
