St. Mark, Ama, is honored to host Archdiocese of New Orleans Archbishop James Checchio this Saturday, June 13. His Excellency will celebrate evening Mass with us and — joining U.S. bishops and Catholic Churches throughout the nation — consecrate our parish to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We look forward to welcoming Archbishops Checchio to our St. Mark community!

Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ

Act of Adoration and Reparation to Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament:

My Lord and my God, I believe that You are truly present in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Though my eyes see only bread and wine, my faith confesses Your Sacred Body, Your Precious Blood, Your Soul, and Your Divinity. I adore You, O Eucharistic Jesus, with the deepest humility of my heart. I desire to make amends for all the indifference, coldness, and irreverence You receive in the Tabernacles of the world. O Sacrament most holy, O Sacrament divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment thine. Jesus, Bread of Life, nourish my soul. Grant that I may desire You above all earthly things. Wash me clean from my sins, and strengthen my weak will. Even when I cannot receive You sacramentally, I beg You to come spiritually into my heart. Cleanse it, sanctify it, and make it a dwelling place worthy of Your presence. Stay with me, Lord, for the day is far spent. Guide my steps, calm my fears, and let Your Eucharistic Heart be my refuge in my life and my hope in death. Amen.

St. Mark School of Religion students spent their class time on April 19 making special bags for the homeless. Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners and friends, the students were able to make more than 100 bags and had leftovers — all of which will be donated to Ozanam Inn in New Orleans.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated and to the students for their service to the community.

St. Mark School of Religion students performed the Living Stations of the Cross on March 29. The children followed Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection, praying between each of the stations. The performance was bookended with our singers performing “Lord, Let me Walk” and “Were you There.” Thanks to our students and teachers for a moving performance and to our parents, friends and family for supporting our wonderful kids!
