New Vision Ministries We are a non-denominational church, with an Apostolic ministry, located south of Alvord, Texas. Welcome and thank you for visiting our page!

New Vision Ministries is excited about what God is doing in our midst. We pray that you will get a glimpse into our heart and vision that God has revealed and is continually revealing to us. Our people are passionate about developing a closer relationship with Jesus and serving Him. Out of those God-given desires, ministries are developed, Kingdom-connections are being made, and NVM is able to

So many times spiritual leaders will use scriptures like "give and it will be given to you..." to get people to give offerings and donations. They will say things like "it will be multiplied 30, 60, 100 fold" to get them to give more.
While God is a giving God, that is not how it works. They will also say things like "God loves a cheerful giver". Which is true, but I have never seen anyone coerced into begrudgingly giving, even to get the promised return, be a cheerful giver.
God does bless people, He does multiply things (of His choosing) back to us. He is not a lottery ticket waiting to be scratched off for the jackpot. Things do not always come back as money. It may be good health, prodigals coming home, favor in business or other decisions.
The facts are that what we give is a reflection of who we are. Whether it be in the plate at church or as a tip on the table at a restaurant (especially when we have not had good service). Not only of our money, but of our time and effort. It is all a reflection of us.
Think about this, even if our giving is done to receive the 30,60, 100 blessing, that is also a reflection of who we are.
When giving is done without the expectation of it being returned (and/or multiplied), that is true giving. Otherwise it is giving with conditions. Our greatest giving is when we do something for someone else who does not have the resources or ability to "benefit" us in return. Giving to be giving is the reflection of a good heart.

None of us like the "stormy" times in our lives. But it is in those times that our growth comes. That is where the beauty from ashes comes from. We can have a sprinkler system at our house to water our lawns, but it is when the rain comes that we really see the grass and flowers have their growth spurts.
Nothing nourishes like the actual rain. It is the same in our spiritual lives. Those times that we feel under the oppression, under the weight of the world that we are being squeezed, pressed, formed for what we are supposed to become. I know we each have testimonies of what God has done in our lives, and those testimonies came out of times of testing. Those are also the times that made us stronger, increased our faith, caused us to reach deeper, caused us to pray harder, caused us to grow. Even the mighty oak tree would have a weak foundation if the winds never blew against it and made it dig in deeper to remain standing.
One thing we are reminded of, and can encourage ourselves with is that the storms don't last forever. Eventually they pass, and when they do, new life immediately begins to press through and reveal itself.
If you are going through a storm right now, hold onto the immovable anchor, Jesus. He is with you in the storm and He will be with you as the new, stronger you appears on the other side.

You will decide today, this morning which direction opportunities will go for you today. In Romans 12:1-2 scripture tells us to "re-new our mindset". That is important because our attitude, our mindset influences every opportunity that comes our way.
The decision is not made at the moment, the decision is made in the setting of our foundation. The foundation that we build on is the influence that guides us.
We are programmed by our surroundings, our upbringing, the circumstances in our lives and those around us. All of these things shape the way we think and ultimately the decisions we make are based upon this. The good and the bad all mixed in there together.
But God says we can "re-new" our minds in His word and in His presence. We can essentially, though the Holy Spirit, reprogram our minds to think different than the world generally thinks. We can decide to change that life influenced foundation to a more solid foundation that leads us to a more positive result.
God desires His people to prosper (not just monetarily) but in peace, love, joy, strength, those things influenced by our foundation. Those things not ultimately found in material things that are here today and gone tomorrow, but in those things that are eternal.

We tend to forget that prayer is supposed to be a conversation. A dialogue not a monologue. Instead we treat it like a "genie in a bottle" request. We come into a time of "prayer", read our grocery want list to God, then immediately move about our day and wait to see the results.
What we don't do many times is sit and wait. Wait to hear answers back from Him. Wait for that unction and guidance from the Holy Spirit. He knows all, sees all, and has all of the answers.
It is part of our microwave society that we live in. We just expect immediate results or we move on to the next task or option. We buy products for skin tightening or weight loss, we use them faithfully for maybe a week and when we don't see drastic results we set the aside and quit using them declaring that they don't work. We can tend to treat God the same way. Immediate results or declare that is was "not His will", or "He doesn't hear my prayers".
Maybe He has been trying to tell us the very answer we are seeking for the whole time, but we just haven't taking time to listen.

Sometimes we quit right before the victory!
When it seems like it is over, when the crowd around us is giving the negative report, when all seems lost, maybe it is because the answer God is sending just hasn't shown up yet.
Maybe the answer is already there, but we haven't recognized it because it came in a different package than we expected.
When David showed up at the battle site, the Israeli army (hiding in the rocks) had no idea that their solution had just entered the arena. Not one of that "mighty warriors" looked at David and said "here is the answer to our Goliath problem".
We can sometimes totally over look the answer because we have faith in God for the solution, but our faith has a certain expectation and that solution may not look like our expectation.
What if what we have been praying for has already been delivered and we have yet to recognize it?
Sometimes a whole army can be replaced by a sling shot and 5 smooth stones if we will only put it in God's hands.

Our response is a reflection of who we are, not the other person.
We may have the right to re-act in an unkind way, but what does that say about our nature and character. Sometimes it reveals something that we thought we have dealt with, something that we have conquered. Attacks against the flesh have a way of bringing the "old man" back to life.
Our ability to remain kind even when we have every reason not too begins well before we are in a situation to have to make that decision. It is established in our prayer time, in our quiet time with the Lord. It is in that time of renewing our mind and solidifying our foundation that allows us to act and not to react.
It only takes one moment of allowing the flesh to rule us to ruin years of testimony. Yes, we all fall short, and yes, we all fail from time to time, but in a brief moment that fall can be more that we could have ever imagined.
One day, maybe years down the road, that one moment of remaining kind could be the moment that actually changed someone else's heart. Or that one brief moment of failure could be that same person's justification to not.

When we just down right raw and truthful with God.
It does not have to be some fancy worded, holy than thou sounding prayer. Sometimes it is just saying, "God I'm tired and I need some help". Simple as that.
Instead of reading the grocery list of all of the things we would like to have. Instead of looking for the bless me, bless me statements, how about just tell God "I am really having a rough time about now".
Why does it sometimes seem like we can't just be honest with God about it. He already knows. He sees our situation, our condition. He understands where we are.
As a parent, don't we want our children to come and let us know when they are hurting, when they have a real need? That is when we want to hold them, love on them, make things better.
We have a Father in heaven that feels the same way about His children.
