New Vision Ministries is excited about what God is doing in our midst. We pray that you will get a glimpse into our heart and vision that God has revealed and is continually revealing to us. Our people are passionate about developing a closer relationship with Jesus and serving Him. Out of those God-given desires, ministries are developed, Kingdom-connections are being made, and NVM is able to

Like everything else, if we are not careful we can get complacent in our salvation. We can get to comfortable and just take it for granted essentially becoming luke warm.
It is easy to have "faith" and praise the Lord when things are going generally well. When things are mostly falling into place and working properly.
But it is in the storm, when that faith is tested, when the trails are coming against us that we realize in Whose hand we are held. It is when we can find peace in the midst of chaos, when we can find strength when we are tired, when we can worship in the midst of a "prison cell" as Paul and Silas did, THEN we know the worth of the anchor that holds us.
It is in those times that Christ is proven to be our solid foundation that is not swayed by the wind and the waves. It is in those times we "remember" that our trust relies in Him.
Sometimes it takes a storm to remind us, re-center us, re-ground us, and in those times He proves His faithfulness.

We have been praying for sometime that God would send someone to New Vision Ministries with the calling to lead our children. It is not just a position to fill, it is a calling. Finally God sent the person with that heart and passion.
Meet Brandi Sells. She is now heading up our children’s church and she is excited about getting to share the Lord with your children. Many people have asked us for some time if we had anything for the children, but we refused to just fill the position. We wanted someone that would excel at it and the Lord has answered. Not just a time to “occupy” their time while mom and dad are in big church, but to actually teach the gospel in a way they can understand and grow.

What a difference perception makes.
Many times we say "God gave us one more day to...."
But when we take a good look at that, we realize that means another day is gone. That means this one more day, is one less day than we had yesterday.
Did we do anything meaningful with our yesterday?
Did we make the most of the "one more day" yesterday?
In that reflection, what will we do with what we have been given for today?
Each man (and woman) is given a determined amount of time that only God knows. It is not like a bank account that we can track and know exactly how much is left. We do not know when it will run out, we are not promised tomorrow.
But since we have this day, what will we do with it?

When God sent Moses to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt He told Moses to tell Pharaoh that "I AM" sent Him.
One of the most powerful names of God is "I AM".
What that means to each of us is that God is the "I AM" for whatever we need.
He is our Saviour.
He is our Deliverer.
He is our Healer.
He is our Provider.
He is our Strength.
He is our Patience.
He is our Peace.
He is our Rest.
He is our .........
God is the "I AM" of our situation, our condition, our circumstances where He will never leave nor forsake His children. What God is not is a fairy godmother waiting to grant every wish or whim that we have. He is not a genie in a bottle waiting to grant 3 wishes. He is a good Father waiting on a relationship with His children.
For those who love Him and put their trust in Him, He is everything they need.

No miracle ever happened when things were going great. There had to be an impossible need, condition, situation for a miracle to take place, otherwise it wouldn't be a miracle. We all like miracles, we just don't like what puts us in the need for one.
But like the woman with the issue of blood, her faith remained even in her condition. When the miracle came, Jesus told her "YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WHOLE".
It is walking in faith in the midst of the storm that sets the atmosphere for the miracle to come. Mary and Martha more faith than many, but when their brother died, they didn't have the faith for their miracle. They had seen blind eyes opened, they had see people healed, but they had not seen the dead raised. They told Jesus IF He had been there earlier (before Lazarus died) that he would have been healed. THAT they had faith for, but Jesus didn't come until after he had died because He was about to take their faith to a new level. That day they gained "raise the dead" faith.
Are we able to believe for what we have never seen?
That is the kind of faith Jesus desires that we walk in. Besides, if we have to see it before we believe it, is it really faith?

Sometimes it is hard to know how to love people. Especially when it is family or a close friend. We can actually hinder them from healing by "helping" them, by making excuses for them, by allowing them to stay broken. If we are not careful, our help becomes enabling.
How many times have we put things in God's hands only to step in and try to help Him to the solution?
If the prodigal had someone to "help" him, to bail him out, how much longer would he have stayed in the pig sty? How much longer would it have taken him to "come to himself"?
Though it is hard to watch, it is hard not to step in, God can be using those very situations to bring someone to the place of deliverance. If what we are doing to help is just keeping someone in the same cycle over and over again, we are not helping, we are prolonging their recovery. This is where we really need discernment from the Holy Spirit to know what is help and what is hinderance. Sometimes the greatest help we can give is to be on our face before God lifting that person up in prayer.

Human reasoning verses faith.
God does not always make sense in a way that we can reason out. That stops so many blessings from taking place.
Peter and the guys had been fishing all night. It was their livelihood so they were well experienced. They knew where to fish, then knew how to fish, they knew when to fish, yet they had come up empty. They were tired, they were frustrated, there were finished and Jesus said "throw out the nets one more time".
Peter had a choice. He could have reasoned, we have already washed the nets, we have tried all night, the men are tired and we will try again tomorrow, all of these would have made perfect sense.
BUT Peter made the right decision, "...BUT AT YOUR WORD". He chose to hear God and be obedient instead of what would seem reasonable. He ended up with what was most likely his greatest fishing harvest ever. So many it was tearing the nets, they had to bring over other boats.
From absolutely nothing to over-abundance because of obedience when it did not seem to make sense.
How many blessings do we reason away. We may have solid reasoning to go with our excuses, but what was on the other side of obedience?
Next time we hear the unction of the Holy Spirit, whether it appears to make sense of not, what would happen if instead of reasoning it away, we follow Peter by saying "...BUT AT YOUR WORD" and just do it!
