It is our human nature to magnify the negative. We truly have to train ourselves, our minds to focus on the positive.
If we really break things down, we have many of the things in our lives that we prayed for before. But yet, we can tend to dwell on what we don't have (yet) or on what is not going the direction we had hoped. It is ok to continue to pray for those things, those situations, but those prayers are made more effective by beginning with gratitude for the 9 out of 10 things that have gone right.
Romans 12:1-2 tells us to renew our minds by the washing of the water of the word. Meaning that we have to train our minds NOT to think as the world does, but to turn those things upside down. To focus on what is right and not what is wrong. To walk in and move in a different attitude and spirit than we are born into.
When we go down the list of things we are grateful for, our grocery list of things we lack "or think we lack" tends to shrink in comparison. Begin the day with thanks and see how much better the day goes.
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.
