THOSE IN NEED
Matthew 25: 35-36 (AMP) Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink. I was a stranger and you brought me together with yourselves and welcomed and entertained and lodged me. I was naked and you clothed Me. I was sick and you visited Me with help and ministering care. I was in prison and you came to see Me.”
25:40...”Truly I tell you in so far as you did it for one of the least of these my brothers, you did it for Me.”
God has put in our hearts a desire to help the homeless in the city of Alvin. Since Alvin has no designated shelters, we see an emergency need to take care of those who are without walls during extreme cold (below 40 degrees) and extreme hot weather(above 105 degrees). We know there are others in our community who want to help. Since these weather events could occur soon, Faith Community Church, with the help of the community, will rent hotel rooms to allow the homeless to have a warm shelter during these extreme weather events this winter. We will plan to have comfort bags and hot meals for those who choose to accept this outreach. Our plan will also address the extreme heat this summer by opening our doors as a cooling center as needed.
We invite any and all who would like to help in this outreach to let us know. This can be done through :
**monetary donations to help with hotel rooms
**offers to cook and deliver meal**putting together comfort bags/providing snacks **prayer for this ministry
