Ruth's Garden served 105 kids from 56 families yesterday. We talked with families from 4 counties, 11 zip codes, and gave out 5,300 diapers! This ministry is GROWING and is meeting a major need to our community.

This morning we had a power outage during the service that was part of a larger power outage in Alvin. That outage caused the fire alarm to go off during our church service. Thank you to everyone for exiting the building in a calm and orderly fashion. There fire department came and confirmed that there was no fire in the building. When the power came back on the alarm cleared. We talked to the company that installed the new fire detection system and there is something wrong in the program that is causing the power outage trouble signal to also set off the fire alarm. They will come out this week and reprogram the system. I guess it is not bad to have to have a fire drill every once and a while. Thank you to those who stuck around to conclude the service in the courtyard. Maybe we can do that on purpose sometime when the weather is nicer.
