We were created for connection.
The relationships in our lives can bring tremendous joy, safety, belonging, and growth—but they can also expose fears, wounds, insecurities, and patterns we may not fully understand.
Why do some people fear abandonment while others pull away when relationships get too close? Why do we sometimes react so strongly to silence, distance, conflict, rejection, or vulnerability? Why do certain relationship patterns seem to repeat themselves again and again?
Often, the answer involves attachment.
Connected: Understanding Attachment Styles is a six-week Thrive Group designed to help you understand how attachment shapes how you experience connection, trust, intimacy, communication, conflict, and relationships.
Throughout the series, we will explore the four primary attachment styles—secure, anxious, avoidant, and disorganized—while going much deeper than simply identifying a label.
You will begin discovering:
Why healthy connection is essential to emotional and relational well-being
How attachment patterns develop
What your attachment style may reveal about the way you experience relationships
Why certain situations trigger fear, anxiety, withdrawal, people-pleasing, or self-protection
How different attachment styles interact with one another
How unresolved attachment wounds can affect present relationships
The role of trust, vulnerability, boundaries, communication, and emotional availability
How to recognize unhealthy relational cycles
How to repair connection after conflict or disconnection
Practical ways to move toward greater security and healthier relationships

WEEK 5 — BUILDING SECURE CONNECTION

WEEK 6 — EARNING SECURITY
Moving Toward Healthier, More Connected Relationships

YOUR ATTACHMENT STYLE IS NOT YOUR DESTINY.
Attachment styles help us understand how we learned to connect, but they do not have to determine how we will always relate.
Through awareness, healing, intentional practice, and healthier relationships, we can learn new ways of connecting.
You can become more secure.
You can communicate differently.
You can stop repeating old relational cycles.
You can experience closeness without losing yourself.
And you can build relationships where connection feels safer, healthier, and more authentic.
