According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), alcohol consumption is responsible for 4% of cancer deaths in the United States. Alcohol is a known carcinogen that increases the risk of several cancers, including those of the oral cavity, esophagus, larynx, pharynx, liver, colon, and re**um. It also increases the risk of breast cancer in women, accounting for about 15% of all breast cancer deaths.
