Northwestern Oklahoma State University Choral Music is bringing something special to Alva on Thursday, March 12.
Northwestern Oklahoma State University's Reichenberger Department of Fine Arts presents "Illuminations: Songs of Light and Hope" — a free, public concert featuring the University Singers at First Presbyterian Church in Alva at 7 p.m.
The program spans contemporary choral works, folk traditions, and classical masterworks, with pieces by Andrea Ramsey, Zoltán Kodály, Bob Dylan, Laufey, and more. The evening also includes a featured soprano solo performance of Mozart's "Laudate Dominum" from Vesperae Solennes de Confessore by Lawana Newell, instructor of music.
The March 12 concert also serves as the finale of Audition Day — a full day of events for high school juniors and seniors interested in Northwestern's fine arts programs in vocal, band, theatre, and visual arts.
Students can attend classes, meet faculty and current students, and audition for scholarships.
Audition Day registration deadline: March 10

The concert is free and open to the public. No ticket required.
