Federated Community Church United Church of Christ The Federated Community Church is part of the United Church of Christ. Our members worship from a wide variety of traditions and beliefs.

The Federated Community Church United Church of Christ started as the union of the two oldest churches in Alturas: First Congregational Church (founded in 1883) and First Baptist Church (founded 1908). These pioneer churches merged in 1940 to promote Christian unity in Alturas. For many years we have proved that open-minded Christian people can worship, work, and serve together in peace and harmo

ny. The United Church of Christ is in full communion with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Presbyterian Church (USA), and the Reformed Church in America. We are also part of the ecumenical movement: Churches Uniting in Christ. The Federated Community Church has members from a wide variety of traditions who are free to cherish their personal beliefs. Dr. Ben Zandstra leads worship services at 9:00am in Cedarville, CA and at 11:00am in Alturas, CA.
