New Life Worship Center Tax Team

After I retired from the Air Force after 22 years, I moved back to central PA and settled into a church, New Life Worship Center.

My calling was doing taxes--I volunteered throughout my career in the Air Force at the base VITA centers. When I talked to my pastor about this ministry, he was on board. My first year I did 2 returns and was kind of heartbroken--I wasn't sure this is what God wanted me to do. After praying about it and making sure I wasn't doing this for myself, but to bring glory to His name--I continued on. In

2021, this team is up to helping over 1800 people out throughout the world, our nation, and the local community to get over $3M in refunds!! Donations were over $61K in 2021. We also have an APP to use our tax services. Just go to https://taxestogo.com/App/Download/3287 and can do everything without visiting our office. Great for clients outside the local area. As you can see, this ministry is about helping out people--you don't have to go to New Life, as this team is willing to partner with any church. Local pastors, I would be more than willing to talk to your church about this ministry. People who don't attend a church, please feel free to use this service and become a part of this community service. All federal returns are e-filed and all 50 states returns are available to e-file as well. Our motto: To show God's love one tax return at a time!

New Life Worship Center Tax Team WHAT A TAX SEASON!! I can tell you that every year I pray God just amaze me this year! Well He truly has. This year, we had food and gas for vehicles on most Saturdays during our drop offs! In fact, one lucky client WON 10 gallons of gas for FREE as they guessed the nearest to how many we served this year.

Our team of 25 people did an OUTSTANDING job and put in loads of steps in during a Saturday as they went here and there making things run as smoothly as possible.

So here's some stats we did throughout the season. We efiled these totals per month - Jan 154, Feb 657, Mar 717 and so far in Apr 215. 247 new clients, 66 sitdown appointments, 13 client also needed prior year returns done, 21 clients had different states (took care of 12 different state returns) and had someone from Morocco needed their return done, 290 Property Tax and Rent Rebates, 333 clients used the APP, filed 957 client's locals on PA LITE system for our Blair County clients. FINAL TOTAL as of today, served 1746 clients and RAISED over $92K--will be donating to 23 nonprofits!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Big question, are we still doing them this year? Yes, but the donation has went up to at least $50 now. We have the capability to file returns year round--so contact us at (814) 215-1933. New Life Worship Center Tax Team SCHEDULE: Welcome to our 16th annual tax season! We would like to thank all the clients who voted for us during Hometown Favorites contest. We were the WINNERS of the Hometown Favorites for 2025 in Tax Services! Thanks for helping us last tax year to raise over $75K for 18 nonprofits that we supported. We served over 1630 clients with their tax needs, saving them over $500K in tax prep fees!

Our donation hasn't changed. Still at least a $30 donation (can give more) to get your federal and state returns efiled and your local return completed to mail in. We also do Property Tax and Rent Rebates for ones who qualify in PA. If you have a business or rental, the donation is at least $50. Make sure you have all your tax documents since amendments will be $60 this year. We donate all our funds at the end of the tax season to 18 nonprofits!

Our first drop off will be Saturday on January 24, 2026 from 9am-12pm or the first 200 clients, whichever comes first. We'll be doing the same process each Saturday (200 clients or from 9am-12pm, whichever comes first). We'll be taking 2 Saturdays off this year, February 14th and March 14th. There will be 2 drop off Mondays call Senior Days which will be Feb 9th and March 9th from 10am-12pm. Will be for our Seniors age 65 and over. Our last Saturday drop off will be on March 28th. That gives you 8 Saturdays and 2 Mondays to drop off, so please plan accordingly. If those days don't work for you, then email us, text/call at 814-215-1933 or message us on Facebook to make other arrangements. If you receive ALL your tax documents before Jan 24, please text/call us at 814-215-1933 or go onto our APP. Our address is 600 Ritts Rd, Altoona PA 16601.

If you want an in-take prior to dropping off, please text us your email address at 814-215-1933 or give us a call. We require one to be filled out for each tax return. Can pick a paper copy at the church office starting on January 12th on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday from 10am-2pm.

Check out our mobile APP (link is https://taxestogo.com/App/Download/3287). APP can be used by clients outside the local area as well as busy people at their convenience in the local area. There will be no limit on the amount of clients that use our APP per week, so this is another way to get us your tax documents. We did returns last year as far away as Australia via the APP. Please let us know when you submitted documents via our APP so we can import them into our tax program. We'll text you when we receive an APP submission. If you haven't heard from us within 4 hours of submission, please reach out to us. (contact number is there when you download the APP) It's best to use the link provided to download and access our APP. Please ONLY use the APP if you plan on NOT dropping off to us. In a couple of month, we'll be ready to serve the community and the world (via our APP) during tax time. Some big tax changes this year!

New Life Worship Center Tax Team NEWS: What a TAX season we had!! Learned some things as we are going to pivot and do things different next year--changes will be announced as we get closer to next year's filing season. The pictures show of the last drop off we had--some of the days before that we had 500 people show up in a 5 hour window!!

Totals for the season. Served 1620 clients (already gave out gas to someone who guessed at the beginning of the season), raising over $73K for the 18 non-profits we are giving to this year. Saved clients over $500K in tax prep fees

New Life Worship Center Tax Team not only does taxes, but we have around 30 volunteers. One area is having food on Saturday’s drop off starting on Jan 25 from 9am-2pm.

Jennifer Phelan ran the food booth last year. She passed away over the summer—she was a great lady!! Since everyone has a story to tell about their life, we wanted Jen’s story to be told in a special way. We reached out to one of nonprofits to see if they could do anything, so lovinghandsofgod.com, who runs an orphanage in Kenya stood up to help out. They came up with “The Jen Phelan Kitchen” were 200 children will eat their meals. Jen’s story will live on for years to come!!

So what’s your story? New Life Worship Center Tax Team will be matching up to $3K of what the food booth can raise this tax year. Our motto is “providing hope one tax return at a time” So if you see them on Saturday drop offs be a part of the team by donating to them and get some food while you do it.

New Life Worship Center Tax Team is officially OPEN!! We’ll start taking drop offs on Jan 25th (Saturday) from 9am-2pm. There will be opportunities for our clients to participate in a golf tournament in the summer and/or also attend a basic investing class. Sign up sheets will be there on drop off days or contact us. Food and bake goods will be available every drop off day and might have gas for vehicles. Please follow us on New Life Worship Center Tax Team for any updates this tax year.

If you get your tax documents before Jan 25th, please reach out to us via text/call at 814-215-1933, message us on Facebook or email us at [email protected]. Donation is at least $30, can give more. Federal and state returns will be e-filed and locals completed to mail in. We also can complete Property Tax and Rent Rebates if you qualify. ALL donations will be given away to 17 nonprofits locally and throughout the world.

Our APP is available now. Our link to download the APP is https://taxestogo.com/App/Download/3287 We already imported some clients into our tax program—need to input your SSN before we import your information. Once we see your SSN on our daily reports we pull, we’ll import your information. Then when you start to drop your tax documents the tax program, the program will send us a message. With the APP distance isn’t an issue as we served clients last year in about 20 different states and even in Australia!

If you plan to drop off instead and have a printer, we can email you an in-take sheet. We require all clients who drop off to fill one out. Call/text us your email address at 814-215-1933. You can also pick an in-take sheet at the church (600 Ritts Rd, Altoona 16601) on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday from 10am-2pm. Can also fill one out when you drop off. Whatever is more convenient for you.

New Life Worship Center Tax Team news: Welcome to our 15th annual tax season!

Our drop off schedule for Saturdays will be starting on Jan 25th from 9am-2pm. We won't be taking drop offs on Feb 15 or Mar 15. Last drop off will be Mar 29th. So we'll only have 8 drop off days this year. NO Monday drop offs this year. If Saturday doesn't work, then please contact us at 814-215-1933 (text preferred).

Can use our APP - https://taxestogo.com/app/download/3287 This is just another way to get your tax documents to us. So if you can't make it on Saturdays or you live out of the local area, our APP is a great way to use our tax service. Last year, clients from Australia used our APP, so distance isn't an issue. If you plan on dropping off, please don't download the APP. Also it's better to use the link to download the APP.

If you are dropping off, we require an in-take sheet to be filled out. 2. We have drop off days, but with the APP there's no need to drop off tax documents. So if you plan to drop off, please don't use the APP.

3. The APP is designed for clients that are too busy to drop off or if they are away from the local area. Last year, we had a client from Australia--so distance truly isn't an issue.

4. How do we know you signed into our APP? We have daily reports and will reach out to you.
