What if the posture of the Christian life is simply this — crying out to God again and again, 'Lord, be my helper'? David abandoned all self-sufficiency and threw himself on God's mercy. That's where healing begins.

When the floor drops out from under us, it’s easy to feel like God has abandoned us. But what if the shaking isn't a sign of His anger, but a tool of His grace?

In Psalm 30 this weekend, we saw how David’s prosperity made him proud, but his plummet into the "pit" drove him to his knees. God allowed the illusion of David's self-sufficiency to shatter so that his joy could be anchored in something unshakable.

If your foundations are shaking today, don't waste the discomfort. Let it drive you from the pride of prosperity into the pleading of the pit, where you will meet the God who turns our deepest mourning into lasting joy.

Application for this week: Take five minutes tonight to audit your heart. What "mountain" are you trusting to keep you safe? Confess the pride, cry out from the pit, and watch Him clothe you in gladness.

"I shall never be moved." Famous last words. David said it. We think it. Prosperity has a sneaky way of making us believe our stability comes from our own strength, not God's grace. Watch out for the illusion of self-sufficiency. Check out the whole sermon at the 🔗 in the comments.
