Hey just a reminder, and if you weren't there for our last rehearsal a quick head's up, we will not be rehearsing this Sunday, October 31. I know the schedule says we will but as I said last Sunday night, things have changed with the city's trick or treat and our evening schedule for students/kids and workers.

That being said let me remind you that we're down to the last 6 rehearsals. Please try to make all that you can and encourage any others that you've heard say "I still might do that" to join us! Also be listening to the songs when you can.

Our next rehearsal is Sunday Night, November 7. See you there!

I'm sitting in the lobby of a hotel in Washington D.C. having walked 11 miles yesterday around the city taking a much-needed break and listening to "Take Me Back to Bethlehem" (for our upcoming Christmas Celebration)! Even as my aching feet are rejoicing that I'm not punishing them again today (the last 5 days we've logged 31 miles of walking), my heart is rejoicing as I think about our Fall Kick Off this week and all that God is going to do!

We've had some great experiences on this trip. We were able to meet Mark Batterson, who pastors National Community Church and has written quite a few books, several of which Eliana and I have read. NCC ministers in the heart of Washington in so many ways. We also got to meet a believer who was blasting worship music in front of the Capitol Building and turned out to be a Russian! We were able to talk for a bit and then had prayer together. He's there most days ministering and witnessing to the thousands of visitors that pass by. Pray today for Vitya and his ministry here if you get a chance.

Our experiences with National Community Church and Vitya were a great reminder of how God calls each of us to follow Him but in different ways. He uses our obedience to follow His lead to touch those around us and sometimes we are the only ones that people will listen to. Either because of our friendship, unique position or just being in the right place at the right time God can use each of us to make a difference to those around us!

With that in mind I hope and pray that you're inviting someone to join you this week as we kickoff what I think is going to be a fantastic Fall for Calvary! "It’s a New Day"! I look forward to seeing each of you as we worship at 8:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. with LIFE Groups in between at 9:15 a.m. Choir, Awana/Kids' Praise, and Student Fuel are also kicking off this week. Let's spread the word, invite, pray, and prepare for God to do something great in and through Calvary! See you Sunday!
