In this holy season, we pause to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ—the Word made flesh, the Light who shines in every darkness, and the hope that renews all creation. In the quiet of Bethlehem, God’s love took on human life, reminding us that grace enters the world not with force or fear, but with compassion, humility, and peace.

As a community, we rejoice that the same Spirit who overshadowed Mary and proclaimed “good news of great joy for all people” still moves among us today—calling us to embody Christ’s peace, extend hospitality, practice generosity, and seek justice with courage and kindness.

This Christmas, may the presence of Emmanuel—God with us—fill our homes, our congregation, and our neighborhoods. May Christ’s light guide those who feel alone, strengthen those carrying heavy burdens, and inspire all of us to become instruments of hope in a weary world.

Because of the snowstorm and unsafe road conditions, we are cancelling our worship today.

Registration Open for Summer Family Camps

Community of Christ members and friends of all ages gather annually in fellowship and learning experiences called family camps or reunions. This relaxed and casual atmosphere provides space for spiritual growth, personal discernment, incredible amounts of fun, deeper commitment, new and renewed relationships, and so very much more!

Family camps are offered at three campgrounds throughout Michigan. Children and youth under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during family camps. Youth will be supervised by registered youth workers only during class and special activity time periods. The Michigan Mission Center policy on housing outlines the process followed for assigning lodging spaces and sites for family camps. The initial deadline to request housing is March 31.

Possession of fireworks, fi****ms, fixed or switched blade knives (except under supervision by camp staff), any other weapons, alcohol, to***co products, ma*****na, illegal drugs or other controlled substances or their imitations is prohibited at Community of Christ events.

Pets on a leash or in contained spaces are permitted in campsites and designated areas, but not inside campground buildings. Certified service animals may accompany individuals as needed. Any pets or service animals that disrupt camp activities or disturb others may be asked to be removed from the campground.
