Your annual dues of $30.00 if for the cemetery upkeep/ beautification such as mowing and cleaning around graves. A kept cemetery is a plus for the community, it also shows that the ones buried there have families and friends who care and loved them. Paying the $30.00 annual dues also allows you to be buried in the cemetery without paying a burial fee of $300.

The Cemetery Association thanks George Martin for making this workshop possible. We learned the following on how to preserve our historic cemetery: 1. Use a non-ionic soap. One of the most readily available soaps is Orvus. Mix one heaping tablespoon of Orvus to one gallon of clean water. 2. Pre-wet the stone thoroughly with clean water. 3. Wash the wet stone using natural bristled, wooden-handled brushes of various sizes. Start at the bottom and work up. The use of plastic handles is not recommended. 4. Wash all surfaces and rinse thoroughly with lots of clean water. 5. When cleaning marble or limestone, one tablespoon of household ammonia can be added to the above mixture. DO NOT USE AMMONIA ON OR NEAR ANY BRONZE OR OTHER METAL ELEMENTS. 6. Lichens and algae can be removed by first thoroughly soaking the stone and then using a wooden scraper to gently remove the biological growth. 7. Not all stains can be removed. 8.Do not clean marble, limestone, or sandstone more often than once every 18 months. Occasionally rinsing with clean water to remove bird droppings and other accretions is acceptable. 9. Keep a simple treatment record of the cleaning.
