Just a reminder that Annual Cemetery Dues need to be paid in June. The dues are $10.00 per grave, occupied or reserved, per year. (Dues for occupied graves are paid by family members, not the occupants.) The Board of Directors voted in 2016 to change annual dues amounts.

The Old Palestine Cemetery Association Board of Directors is accepting bids for maintenance and mowing at Old Palestine Cemetery until January 10, 2025. Contact Binky Johnson at (936) 858-4192 for more information.

Just a reminder that beginning January 1, 2024, any gravesites not in compliance with the Old Palestine Cemetery Association rules will be cleared of all decor not allowed and discarded. If you have any decor on gravesites, besides saddles and flowers in vases attached to the headstones, that you want to keep, you need to remove it. This includes, but is not limited to, shepherd’s hooks, wooden crosses, solar lights, glass or ceramic figurines, drink containers, etc.

Old Palestine Cemetery Association
Due to the increasing number of gravesites out of compliance
with the *Old Palestine Cemetery Association Rules, it has become necessary to strictly enforce these rules. Beginning January 1, 2024, any gravesites not in compliance with the rules, will be cleared of all decor not allowed and discarded. Repeated failure to comply with these rules, may result in forfeiture of future burial privileges at Old Palestine Cemetery.

*The rules are posted on signs at each entry to the cemetery, and on Facebook at Old Palestine Cemetery. (The rules are are posted on FB on the pictures of the signs at each cemetery entrance.)

The above link is the new mapping program for the Old Palestine Cemetery. We still have work to do on it but this has been very helpful in locating graves, especially in the Old Section.
