Domestic violence is not physical violence alone. Domestic violence is any behavior the purpose of which is to gain power and control over a spouse, partner, girl/boyfriend or intimate family member. Abuse is a learned behavior; it is not caused by anger, mental problems, drugs or alcohol, or other common excuses.

“With COVID-19 a lot of people were stuck in houses that were not safe, not everyone was safe during that time of quarantine, actually a 24% increase in crisis calls, so while every home is not safe, now more than ever it’s more relevant to talk about domestic violence and empower victims to find a safe path of exit,”
