When one dies, we like to say, "he or she is in a better place" or " he or she "is looking down at us", while comforting, both statements are not in accordance with God's word. Lately people celebrate ones "heavenly birthday"- that statement while is a warm thought, is also not in accordance with God's word.
These three beliefs have one common thread- that the person who dies, goes straight to Heaven.

Dear Vineyard Family, I wanted to share something important with you.

After a lot of prayer and reflection, I’ve decided to step down from my role as a volunteer lay pastor at Vineyard. This hasn’t been an easy decision at all. I love this church deeply, the people, the mission, and the community have shaped me in more ways than I can count.

December 27th will be my last Sabbath serving in this role. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have walked alongside so many of you, and for the trust, love, and grace you’ve shown me over the years.

This is a goodbye to a role, not to relationships. Vineyard will always have a special place in my heart, and I’ll continue cheering you on and praying for what God is doing here.
