Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather leave wrath to God; for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if your enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing you shalt heap shame on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12-18-21

How do you find the strength to return good to those that seek you harm?

I felt much like Paul, when he made his defense before King Agrippa, and related the account of the vision he had when he saw a light, and heard a voice. At first there were but few who believed him; some said he was dishonest, others said he was insane or crazy. Paul was ridiculed, mocked, and reviled. But all this did not destroy the reality of Paul’s vision. He had seen a vision, he knew he had, and all the mocking and persecution could not make it otherwise. He had both seen a light and heard the voice of Christ speaking unto him, and all the world could not make him think or believe otherwise.

Do you find that Paul’s experience gives you strength when testifying of things spiritual?

"Like a deadly wound in my bones, mine adversaries taunt me and they say unto me all the day long, 'Where is thy God?' [And I wonder to myself], 'Why may I cast down, O my soul?' and 'Why do I have turmoil inside me?' [But] I have hope in God: for I will still praise him, for he is my salvation and my God.'" Pslam 42:10-11

How does God help you overcome despair? Do you feel as David did because of your sins and those that mock you? Do you keep that hope in Christ that David did?

"Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against you. Please, pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the Lord said unto Moses, 'Make a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that everyone that has been bitten, when they look upon it, will live.' ... And it came to pass, that every person who had bitten and who chose to look at the serpent of brass LIVED." Numbers 21:7-9

To win our spiritual battles, we also need the power of Jesus Christ. How can we access the power of Christ?

It is mentally difficult to strive to look unto Christ in every thought. But when we do, our doubts and fears flee.

How does faith in Christ help us face our fears and act courageously?

“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. … That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.” 1 Corinthians 12:13-14,25

Why do some often criticize fellow Christians rather than care for each other?

“Your iniquities have separated you from God, and your sins have resulted in God hiding his face from you, such that He will not hear… For you must put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon your head; and put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and be clad with zeal as a cloak.” Isaiah 59:2,17

How can we fulfill the responsibilities we have since we know Christ and his Gospel?
