Sometimes, information can become a little “distorted” and for that reason I have decided to post this for clarity.

If you have not been to St. Paul’s or to Redeemer recently…

Yes, I am stepping down as an active Pastor with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
My last day of active status as a Pastor will be January 31st, 2022

I have applied for “Inactive Status” which should begin on February 1.

It is very important to me that people understand that I am not leaving due to any sort of dissatisfaction or displeasure.
Serving these congregations has been both an honor and a privilege and I am forever appreciative of the kindness and love I have been given these many years.

I have communicated with Synod in St. Louis, President Panzer Kansas District, our Circuit counselor Larry Boye, both Congregational Presidents, the board of Elders and announced my decision in both services last Sunday.

The Elders are holding a special meeting this evening, we will then meet with President Panzer to begin the call process, and it is my hope, that I will be able to continue with Sunday services and Catechism classes through Palm Sunday so that I may confirm these students who have each worked so hard.

This was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, however, after much prayer and consideration, I believe that it is the best thing for myself and for my family. I will also continue to do everything in my power to support both congregations and our students as we transition to a new pastor.

Due to the snow and extreme cold, Sunday Services and all events for January 2nd are cancelled both at St. Paul’s Alta Vista and Redeemer Lutheran Mission.

By Gods Grace, we enter into a new year.
Service this evening at 7:00 pm . Pauls Alta Vista.

Please consider joining us for worship this evening.
We may not have services on Sunday morning due to the potential for severe weather and bitterly cold temperatures

A decision regarding Sunday will be made Tomorrow (Saturday) at noon.

We thank you Heavenly Father for your Mercy this past year, and look forward to Your Grace in the year ahead.

The “Pot-Luck” LWML luncheon scheduled for this Sunday January 2nd has been cancelled due to the high probability of snow and extremely cold temperatures.

Please keep an eye on this page as well as WIBW and I will make a decision with the Elders on Saturday regarding services and catechism classes.

I just got back from via Christie in Manhattan.
Peggy Ten Eyck wanted me to give everyone an update.
She had some procedures done and is feeling better.
We shared Communion (with Jupe) and they are looking forward to coming back to church soon health permitting.

She is trying to get them to move her back to Wamego hospital for now. She also wanted to thank everyone for your prayers during this time.

Some time ago, I added Len Schultz, (Misty’s Brother) to our prayer chain.

At this time, we simply ask for prayers for comfort and for peace.

I will not be going into the office for several days.

Misty is flying to Florida to see her brother.

I will remain here in Wamego and care for her mother. (Brenda.)

This will not impact services or classes, however I need to stay close to Brenda until Tuesday of next week.

This is an extremely difficult time for our family, and I humbly ask for your continued prayers for Len, for safe travel, and for everyone battling cancer.
