Ephesians 4:7-12 (NIV)

Paul reminds us that when we were saved, Christ didn't simply save us from something—He saved us for something.

God has given every believer grace and spiritual gifts to be used for His glory and for the building up of His church. Some are gifted to teach. Some are gifted to encourage. Some are gifted to serve behind the scenes. Some are gifted to lead, disciple, pray, organize, or show hospitality.

The important question is not, “Do I have a gift?"

The question is, “Am I using the gift God has already given me?"

Too many Christians have become spiritual bench warmers. They attend church, sit in a pew, listen to a message, and then go home without actively serving in the work God has called them to do.

But God did not save us to sit on the sidelines.

He saved us to be part of His mission.

Imagine a football team where only a few players take the field while everyone else sits on the bench. That team would struggle to accomplish its goal. The same is true in the church. God designed His church so that every believer would contribute, serve, and use their gifts to strengthen the body of Christ.

As Vacation Bible School approaches, this is a great opportunity to ask:

* How am I serving God?
* Am I using my gifts for His glory?
* Am I helping reach children and families with the Gospel?
* Am I praying, inviting, encouraging, teaching, helping, or serving where there is a need?

The church is strongest when every member understands that ministry is not just for pastors, deacons, teachers, or ministry leaders. Ministry belongs to every believer.

God has gifted you.
God has called you.
God wants to use you.

Don't spend your Christian life sitting on the bench when God is calling you onto the field.

Truth to Carry This Week:

God did not save you to be a spectator. He saved you, gifted you, and called you to serve.

The goal of biblical parenting is not to break a child’s spirit—it’s to guide their heart toward Christ.

Scripture warns fathers: “Provoke not your children to wrath.” (Ephesians 6:4)

That means we should be careful not to constantly irritate, embitter, discourage, or exasperate our children through harshness, unrealistic expectations, or a lack of grace.

Discipline is biblical. Correction is necessary. But there is a difference between correcting a child and crushing a child.

God has entrusted parents with the responsibility to train their children in truth while also demonstrating patience, love, and encouragement. Our words and actions should build them up, not tear them down.

Strong fathers don’t break their children’s spirits—they help shape their character and point them to Jesus.

If you’re a parent, grandparent, or mentor, this message is a powerful reminder of the influence God has given you.

What Does It Mean?

**Romans 1:16 (NIV)**

*"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile."*

The Apostle Paul was writing to believers in Rome, the center of political power, culture, and influence in the world at that time. Yet Paul boldly declared that he was **not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ**.

Why?

Because the Gospel is not merely a message—it is **the power of God unto salvation**.

Many people are willing to talk about sports, politics, work, hobbies, or current events. But when the conversation turns to Jesus, fear and hesitation often creep in. We worry about what people will think. We worry about saying the wrong thing. We worry about being rejected.

Paul reminds us that our confidence is not in our ability to persuade people. Our confidence is in the Gospel itself. The Gospel has the power to save, transform lives, restore families, and change eternal destinies.

As Vacation Bible School approaches, this truth should encourage us. Children and families do not need our perfect words—they need the Gospel. Every invitation, every conversation, every lesson taught, and every act of kindness is an opportunity to point someone to Jesus Christ.

The question is not whether the Gospel is powerful enough.

The question is: **Are we willing to share it?**

God has placed us in our community for a reason. He has given us neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family members who need to hear the Good News. May we be bold, loving, and faithful witnesses for Christ.

**Truth to Carry This Week:**

"The Gospel does not need to be improved, updated, or made more powerful. It is already the power of God unto salvation. Our responsibility is simply to share it."

🌅 What Is God Trying to Show Me? 🌅

When life's storms roll in, our first reaction is often to ask, "Lord, why is this happening?" But what if we changed the question?

Instead of asking "Why?", ask:

"Lord, what are You trying to show me through this?"

Pray for:
👀 Eyes to see what God wants you to see.
👂 Ears to hear His voice above the noise of the storm.
❤️ A heart open to Him and surrendered to His will.
⚖️ Discernment to recognize His hand at work and receive the lessons He is teaching.

The storm may be dark, but it is not the end of the story. Just as the sunrise breaks through the clouds, God's grace, wisdom, and purpose can shine through even the most difficult seasons.

God may not always reveal the reason for the storm, but He will never waste it.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
