We had a wonderful first Sunday here in Indonesia! It did our hearts well. We saw our daughter be immediately accepted and loved on. We were able to a part of the morning service at a church plant in the making. We also enjoyed the evening service at another church where a friend of ours, who is in Indonesia on an internship, was asked to preach. It also appears we may have been blessed with a wonderful Christian lady who would be willing to watch the girls while we are in language school. This has not been completely confirmed. We would appreciate your prayers about the matter.

Overall, it was an incredible Sunday and we look forward to the many Sundays we have ahead here in Jakarta, Indonesia.

As we walked back to our temporary home last night, we could hear the call to prayer. As we woke up this morning, we hear it yet again. We also are intentionally looking to schedule one house we are looking at to see how loud the call of prayer can be heard within the house.

I say this for no other reason to say even now we have such a somber reminder of the whole reason we are here. Pray that we never just get used to hearing and ignoring the call to prayer. Pray that it will continually remind us of the importance of sharing the Gospel.

Note: In other news. We have what looks to be all of our luggage. We haven't seen it physically yet to double check but it sounds like everything has made it.

We made is safely to Indonesia today. We did get separated from all our luggage though. We would appreciate prayers that all 15 bags are located and reacquired soon.

We were able to look at two houses today and hope to look at two or three more. Would you prayer for God to give us wisdom and peace as we find what will be our family's home for at least the next two years?

We are stil about 1.5 hours from Qatar. Our flight to Jakarta will have stopped boarding before we manage to get off this plane.

Please please pray that we are still able to get on our flight. The Lord provided a miracle last time. If He chooses, He can do so again.

We haven't even gotten on the plane yet and we are already look rough, but within the next hour we should be taking off on our first of two flights. We are praising the Lord for bringing us this far.

Oh how the time has flown! From our first meeting together on January 31,2021 to our last meeting tonight on February 7, 2023. We have grown and changed in so many ways. Through it all we have seen God's faithful goodness. We are 5 days away from leaving for Indonesia, and we couldn't be more happy to be continuing down this path the Lord has us on!

You can imagine the anticipation that has been building. Now with only seven days before we leave, we are experiencing so many emotions. Yet, each day as we continue in final preparations, we have this wonderful feel of peace as we follow the next step that the Lord has put before us.

We wanted to update you on the prayer requests we had and give you a couple more to join us in prayer about.

1. International Drivers License to arrive before departure. -
Update: Although we have not been home to pick them up, it shows that they have been delivered so we should have them in hand in just a few days.

2. Safety as we travel to our final meeting (a conference) next week. Update: We are currently finishing up this conference and it has been such an enjoyable way to end our period of deputation.

3. Wisdom as we look into houses now and select a few to look at in person upon arrival.
Update: Two of the houses we have been looking at are still on the market. We are in contact with the realtors to look at the houses shortly after our arrive.

4. Wisdom as we and the veteran missionary we are going to be working with seek to find a language school or tutors to help us learn the Indonesian language.
Update: We think we have found the language school we will be attending. Unfortunately, we are arriving mid-trimester so we will not be able to start language school until the new trimester begins. Prayer would be appreciated as the new trimester starts right around the time our little girl is due. We are seeking wisdom as we navigate everything involved with this.

These last few have no real progress to update as they still involve future time and events.
5. Wisdom when looking to purchase a car.
6. Pray for us to adjust quickly to the new time zone (12 hour difference).
7. Pray for paperwork to be processed smoothly after our arrival.

Oh how quickly the time is flying! Last week we had our departure interview and have finished gathering the last items to take with us. This week we say goodbye to some family and atart our last missions conference/meeting before we leave.

Please continue to join us in prayer as we finish up our last few days of deputation before we fly out.

In three weeks we will be flying to Indonesia for our first term. Would you be in prayer with us about the following:

1. International Drivers License to arrive before departure.
2. Safety as we travel to our final meeting (a conference) next week.
3. Wisdom as we look into houses now and select a few to look at in person upon arrival.
4. Wisdom as we and the veteran missionary we are going to be working with seek to find a language school or tutors to help us learn the Indonesian language.
5. Wisdom when looking to purchase a car.
6. Pray for us to adjust quickly to the new time zone (12 hour difference).
7. Pray for paperwork to be processed smoothly after our arrival.

We are eagerly counting down the time until we depart. There is much to do, but God has already blessed so much as we have worked through the process. We appreciate your prayers and look forward to sharing with you all that God is doing in Indonesia.

Would you take a moment and join us as we rejoice!!! We just received confirmation that Gina and Thalia's visas are approved (mine was already approved)!!!

We have already purchased our tickets. We will be leaving for Indonesia on February 13th!
