House of Prayer
When we first started our daily House of Prayer in September 2021, I felt God highlight several things that would become principal pillars in guiding us.
1. JESUS is the END GOAL
We had to ask ourselves the question, what makes a “successful” prayer meeting. The answer was pretty clear: the person of Jesus. You can have prayer meetings where you talk to Jesus, or you can talk with Jesus. We have discovered that nothing invigorates our soul more in prayer then when He reveals Himself to us as we give Him our attention, our love, and devotion.
2. FAMILY makes a House a Home
A house is just a building, but when a Family resides within, it becomes a Home. God has really brought people to us that have connected their mind/hearts with the House of Prayer. We are on this journey together. What does it mean to be a dwelling together for the Lord? That’s what we are embarking to discover. Since we began, we have not skipped a day in the HOP, and the fruit is speaking for itself. Hearts are tender, spirits are alive, and we are all growing and being discipled by the Holy Spirit.
3. PSALMS is a PRAYER BOOK
When we began, we just simply felt God wanted us to pray all the way through the Psalms; one per day. It has been life changing. Faith is not a fire as much as it’s a glow. Stoking the fire daily is what increases that glow. The Psalms are such a powerful tool to connect us to the knowledge of God. Meditating (deeply considering) the Word, Confessing (verbally engaging) with the Lord in prayer, and Interceding (intentionally partnering) with His desires as we pray them on earth as it is in heaven.
It’s been a beautiful journey and we are just getting started. Excited to share more as we want to extend this house of prayer practice to whoever would be interested.
