We were blessed with beautiful weather for our outdoor church service to celebrate the children’s last Sunday School days before taking a break for summer. We specialized worship to be geared toward the kids and it was so much fun for everyone. We followed up service with a free will donation meal to replenish the Sunday School fund and no one left hungry ☺️
So thankful for our fun and supportive congregation ♥️

Please continue to pray for rain. 🌧️

But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me. –Psalm 13.5-6

That “but” can carry a lot of weight. David, writer of these verses, does not suddenly get new circumstances. There is no indication the problem is solved. What changes is where he places his attention. He moves from what he feels to what he knows.
And what does he know? God’s love is unfailing. It is not mood-based. It is not dependent on how strong our faith feels that day. There is something almost stubborn about David’s shift. “I trust, even if I do not feel it yet.” “I rejoice—even if I am still waiting.” “I will sing even before the answer comes.”

We continue to pray for rain, not accompanied by hail and tornados. Lord, hear our prayers.

Holy One, forgive us for holding on to stress instead of saying, “But God….” Keep us calm in times of trouble. Teach us to rejoice, not because life is easy, but because you are faithful. We pray for strength for each one currently going through medical treatments. We pray for those whose minds are not clear. We pray for weary caregivers and give thanks for marathon prayers of your people. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
