Alma Methodist Church

Well, it appears that the frigid temperatures and lingering ice/snow continue to cause issues. If there is any shade at all, the ice is there.
Although we will have service tomorrow, it comes with some precautionary notes:

* Today's temperature never made it out of the 20's, although the sun provided some thermal melting - better than nothing. However, the morning temperature is forecasted to be in the teens yet again. Any melt will refreeze.
* Tom and Becky did a good job cleaning the north entrance sidewalk into the office building, but extreme precaution should be utilized if you venture out.
* Walking and parking surfaces on Ash Street are for the most part clean/dry; however, there may still be small areas of ice here-and-there.

All of these things considered, along with the cluttered fellowship hall due to a water leak event last week, the adult Sunday School class has canceled their meeting tomorrow morning.

Again, we will have church, but do NOT venture out if you think you might have a problem. We will livestream as always. This message will be posted via email and Facebook. If you know of someone not receiving or having access to either, please let them know about this notice. Thank you.

Well, the weather prognosticators nailed it this time. We have received the snow and sleet they warned us about, with more sure to come. That, along with the bitter cold until Tuesday afternoon, warrants some decisions.
Regretfully, we will cancel all services at Kibler Methodist Church and Alma Methodist Church for this weekend. This, for the safety of our congregation(s).

There will be a video tomorrow for your home-worship viewing.

The forecast is ominous; therefore, we will probably need to cancel services Sunday morning. The final determination will be made Saturday morning and then broadcasted here on our FB page, as well as through emails.

In light of my study this morning, I share a prayer of encouragement for you today from the OT book of Habakkuk (3:17-19 NIV):

17 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.
