This Easter weekend is going to be the first time that we will partake communion at home as we observed Good Friday and Easter Sunday through our online service. Pastor Zulvy Leon will lead the communion from the online service.
Here’s some practical guidelines:
1. You can use either a regular bread, tortilla, pita bread cut in small squares, or small crackers for the bread element
2. You can use grape juice, wine, or tea for the wine element
3. If you are partaking with others, please spread them in a wide enough plate/container to minimize cross contamination
4. In a Family setting, the head of the family should lead and distribute the elements
We know this is an unconventional approach to partake communion, but we believe that the extraordinary time that we live now would mandate that we take such approach for our safety.
While we can simplify and substitute the two most common elements, we are never to neglect/substitute the most essential element of this sacrament which is the heart element.
Please take the time to prepare your heart and mind as we partake the communion.
Once again, please prepare this ahead of times, so that you will be able to have more time to focus on the heart preparation.
