Dear Science Hill Family and Friends,

Alright, I'll admit it. Thirteen months in, this "Grandpa" thing is really growing on me!

Many of you have seen my grandson David in person or on Facebook, but for those who haven't yet had the opportunity to see him featured in a commercial, I've included one below. Our family is indeed thankful, yes, to Akron Children's and Cincinnati Children's and their staffs, but even more so to Almighty God who has blessed us with grace upon grace. And thank you for praying to God right along with us!

**Due to Sunday's weather forecast, we anticipate an OUTDOOR WORSHIP SERVICE. (Finally!)

9 am Prayer Time in the Pavilion

9:30 am Outdoor Worshi p in the backyard, also live-streamed on our page. Being an Outdoor Service, it is also a "casual dress Sunday." Bring a lawn chair and any outdoor gear you need for weather/sun protection!

Pastor Jon will conclude the sermon series on the Beatitudes with the message, "No Pain, No Gain?" based on Matthew 5:1-12 and I Peter 4:12-19. Jenny Digiantonio is our liturgist and Derek Swegheimer will share the children's message.

Under Construction



Dear Science Hill Family and Friends,

The church currently has some construction going on! A concrete walkway connecting the parking lot and the shelter is being put in. It's one of those projects we adopt to help make things nicer and easier to use.

That's not all that's under construction at Science Hill. Christians, including you and me, are "works in progress," too. The Beatitudes that we've been exploring this summer point us to the improvements that God wants to do in us.

Paul put it this way in his letter to the Philippians: "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

May that be our goal as well, as children of God "under construction!"
