We at Victory Baptist Church would like to invite you to worship with us this Sunday, and quite frankly, every Sunday. This post is not an advertisement, but an appeal to you, the reader. This Sunday, April the 5th, is what is commonly called Easter. Easter is synonymous with celebrating the Lord Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead. This is also the time of year (and at Christmas) where churches spend a considerable amount of effort (and sometimes money) on making their services “attractive” for people to attend and visit. The question arises by individuals in the community, “What is your church doing for Easter?”
Will we at Victory be having an Easter program? No. A fancy musical arrangement? No. Easter Egg hunt? No. A Carnival like atmosphere? No. Splitting up and segregating families during the time of worship? No.
Then what are we offering to you, gentle reader? We are offering to you the opportunity of not being treated as a consumer, not to be marketed to; we are not selling our Church, nor are we selling our Lord as a commodity. We celebrate the Lord’s resurrection every Sunday, and we want you to join us in worshiping the Godhead in simplicity according to the Word of God. We are emphatically opposed to the commercialization of the church, the Bible, the Gospel, and our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
We have only one thing to offer to you, the Holy Bible. It is the only thing we have to give you, it is the most precious Book ever given, God’s Own Word. The Holy Bible tells us how to worship Christ; the Holy Bible tells us of the greatness of the Godhead; the Holy Bible tells us about the grace, mercy, and forgiveness so freely and sovereignly given to rebellious sinners against God.
We invite you to join us, to worship the risen Lord with us.
