I'll miss that extra hour of sleep, but spring sounds good to me! Have a good evening, and hope to see everyone tomorrow, Pastor Kevin

All are welcome to tonight's Ash Wednesday service at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary of Wabash Presbyterian Church!

We will be focusing on the purpose of Lent and why we set this time aside on the annual church calendar, and most importantly, what it points us to... the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ FOR all of us...

There will be no offering or Communion, but for those who desire, we will have ashes dipped in just a little oil for the sign of the cross on one's forehead, as a way of making a public profession of one's faith in Christ.

All are welcome and consider bringing a friend!

Pastor Kevin

The 106th Annual Orio Chowder starts TOMORROW (Saturday, August 30th) on the campus of Wabash Presbyterian Church, 3 1/2 miles west of Allendale, IL! The drive-thru for chowder will start by 6:30 a.m., and the sandwich line by 10:30 a.m.... Chowder is $28/gallon and WPC supplies the buckets... And there will be plenty of cold soda and bottled water, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, corn dogs, french fries, ice cream, and still other selections... Plus a sand volleyball tournament, softball tournament (7 teams so far!), horseshoes and washers... and all profits go to help take care of and maintain the Orio Cemetery (60%), and local and international missions (40%)... so nothing goes to the church's general fund! Any questions, just call Pastor Kevin @ 618.240.6243 and we hope to see you there!

The Bobby duo gave the kids a goal of $400. If they meet or exceed 400, both Bobby will be slimed. Bobby Johnson doesn't think the kids can do it. We will go Facebook Live with the results. Hello There! If you're interested and looking for a church to attend in the morning, there won't be a prime rib buffet, although the donuts, cheese/crackers, coffee, lemonade, and even sweet tea will be fresh... And we won't have a flashy light show to go along with the music...
But we can offer you...
1-A quiet place to be still in a sanctuary that will heighten your awareness of God's reality in your life...
2-An opportunity to choose a couple of hymns that will be played by a pianist, who can play over 600 hymns instantly...
3-An opportunity to pray to your Heavenly Father, Who wants to hear from you...
4-A safe, non-judgmental time in the service where you can quietly do any needed business with God to confess any areas of life where you are struggling and temptation is on fire...
5-A real time for real prayer for real people with real needs
6-The opportunity to pray with like-minded believers the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray... The Lord's Prayer...
7-Encouragement that the love and truth and grace of Jesus Christ is alive and well, especially among many, many college students, as we will get to hear from Lexi Fisher, a local, Allendale girl, who will be serving with Campus Outreach at USI in the fall!
8-A look at 2 of 4 ways where Christians can "improve our serve" and share our faith in Jesus Christ in ways that a watching world will notice... straight from Matthew 5:13-16...
9-Holy Communion freely offered to anyone who wants Jesus to be their Leader and Forgiver...
10-An opportunity to recite with fellow Christian believers, "The Apostle's Creed", that summarizes the Christian faith in about 40 seconds...
And 11th, and finally, the opportunity to close the service singing together Lauren Daigle's song, "Light of the World"... that is often sung during the Christmas season, but has lyrics that never go out of style...
All are welcome here,
With Christian love,
Pastor Kevin
