OCTOBER : Pastorโ€™s Appreciation Month

๐Ÿ“– 1 Thessalonians 5:12โ€“13 KJV

โ€œAnd we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.โ€

In the Dispensational Age of Grace, the local church is the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27), and the pastor is Godโ€™s appointed overseer (1 Timothy 3:1โ€“2) who teaches sound doctrine according to the revelation of the mystery (Romans 16:25).
Yet many saints forget their duty toward their pastor โ€” not to exalt him above Christ, but to edify, encourage, and enable him in the work of the ministry.
Let us see from Scripture how the believer today can biblically take care of his pastor in the dispensation of grace.

๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 3:1; Acts 20:28; Ephesians 4:11โ€“12

A. A Divine Appointment โ€“ God Himself places pastors as overseers; it is not a profession, but a divine position.

B. A Doctrinal Assignment โ€“ His duty is to rightly divide the Word (2 Timothy 2:15), teaching sound doctrine.

C. A Dispensational Alignment โ€“ He must preach the gospel given to Paul (Galatians 1:11โ€“12), not Israelโ€™s program.

๐Ÿ’ก Taking care of your pastor begins by recognizing that his role is a calling from Christ, not a human title.

๐Ÿ“– Hebrews 13:7,17; 1 Thessalonians 5:12โ€“13

A. A Spiritual Leadership โ€“ He watches for your souls as one who must give account.

B. A Scriptural Loyalty โ€“ Respect his teaching as long as it aligns with Pauline truth.

C. A Submissive Learning โ€“ Obedience brings peace in the church body.

๐Ÿ’ก Respect is not worship โ€” itโ€™s recognizing his God-given oversight in the Age of Grace.

๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 5:17โ€“18; Philippians 4:16โ€“19; Galatians 6:6

A. A Faithful Support โ€“ โ€œThe laborer is worthy of his reward.โ€ Support your pastor financially.

B. A Fruitful Supply โ€“ Paul praised the Philippians for ministering to his needs.

C. A Fellowship of Sharing โ€“ Those taught the Word should share all good things with their teacher.

๐Ÿ’ก Taking care of your pastor means meeting his needs, so he can meet yours spiritually.

๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 1:16โ€“17; Romans 15:32; Philemon 1:7

A. A Ministry of Encouragement โ€“ Like Onesiphorus, comfort him through fellowship.

B. A Motivation in the Fight โ€“ Ministry is spiritual warfare; your prayers strengthen him.

C. A Moment of Rest โ€“ Allow your pastor time to renew his body and mind.

๐Ÿ’ก A refreshed pastor will refresh the flock โ€” itโ€™s the grace of mutual edification.

๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:2; Titus 2:1; Acts 17:11

A. A Consistent Teaching โ€“ Stand firm with him in Pauline sound doctrine.

B. A Confirming Testimony โ€“ Live the truths he teaches to reinforce the message.

C. A Cooperative Teamwork โ€“ Help spread his teaching ministry through your witness.

๐Ÿ’ก Support his message, not your personal opinions. Truth must travel through faithful men.

๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 4:14โ€“15; Ephesians 6:12; 2 Corinthians 10:4โ€“5

A. A Spiritual Warfare โ€“ Protect your pastor through prayer and truth, not carnal fight.

B. A Scriptural Defense โ€“ Defend his teaching from false doctrines and divisive men.

C. A Steadfast Faithfulness โ€“ Stand with him when others fall away from the truth.

๐Ÿ’ก In the dispensation of grace, pastors face opposition from within and without โ€” be his armor-bearer in truth.

๐Ÿ“– Philippians 4:1; 1 Thessalonians 2:19โ€“20; 2 Corinthians 3:2โ€“3

A. A Spiritual Heritage โ€“ The church is his โ€œjoy and crown.โ€

B. A Sincere Gratitude โ€“ Rejoice when souls are saved and saints are edified.

C. A Shared Glory โ€“ In the Judgment Seat of Christ, your faithfulness benefits both.

๐Ÿ’ก A pastorโ€™s joy is a fruitful flock walking in grace, truth, and spiritual maturity.

Beloved, in this Age of Grace, our pastors are not prophets of Israel, but stewards of the mystery (1 Corinthians 4:1).
They labor for our spiritual growth in the truth revealed to Paul.
Let us recognize, respect, reward, and refresh them โ€” for by doing so, we honor Christ Himself, who called them.

Pray daily for your pastor.
๐Ÿ’Œ Send him encouragement, not criticism.
๐Ÿ’ฐ Support his ministry joyfully and faithfully.
๐Ÿ“– Study the Word he teaches and live it out.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ โ€œLet the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

Taking care of your pastor is taking care of the truth.
2๏ธโƒฃ When you strengthen him, you strengthen the Body of Christ.
3๏ธโƒฃ When you refresh him, you refresh the ministry of grace.
4๏ธโƒฃ When you stand with him, you stand with Paulโ€™s gospel.
5๏ธโƒฃ When you love him, you love the Lord who called him.
6๏ธโƒฃ When you serve him, you serve Christ.
7๏ธโƒฃ When you honor him, you honor the truth of the dispensation of grace.

Beloved brethren,

Once again, with joy and anticipation, we extend our warmest invitation to the 35th Fundamental Bible Conference, taking place on Thursday and Friday, October 31 to November 1.

This year, we are grounded in the theme of Colossians 1:28โ€” โ€œโ€ฆwarning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesusโ€ (KJV).

We are eager to gather with you as we dive deep into the Word of God, expounding upon key doctrines and truths essential to our growth and steadfastness in Christ.

Each topic has been prayerfully chosen, aiming to equip us all for the calling to be presented mature in our faith.

Come prepared to be encouraged, challenged, and renewed as we fellowship together around the Word.

We look forward to seeing you there!

We are, undoubtedly, living in perilous yet exciting times.
Perilous because wars and rumors of wars from both the western and eastern hemispheres are escalating.
The increasing tensions in the Middle East are affecting the stability of the worldโ€™s geo-political situation.
Exciting because such a scenario has been prophesied in the sacred pages of Godโ€™s Word.
More than ever, our Lordโ€™s instructions need to be heeded: "When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh,โ€ Luke 21:28.
As before, this yearโ€™s 35th Fundamental Bible Conference is designed to get Godโ€™s blood-bought saints back to the Bookโ€”to encourage us to stay on course with our God-given mission.
By God's enabling grace, we dare not flinch nor falter, as some have already have.
Instead, we need to be right with God to live right before Him: evangelizing the lost, edifying the saints, equipping them for ministry, and engaging in earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints.
So, invite friends and loved ones to join us this October 31 to November 1 for a time of warm, Christian fellowship and preaching at the Astoria Plaza, that directly address current concerns and issues of our day in the light of Godโ€™s Word while proclaiming Christ, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect (mature, complete, fully grown) in Christ Jesus, Colossians 1:28.
See you at the conference.

COUNTING OUR BLESSINGS

The world is full of people who have a low โ€œself-imageโ€ or have a โ€œpoor meโ€ attitude. You have probably been tempted to give in to such thinking. But God gives you a sure remedy. Through His Word, God reminds us to remember what Heโ€™s done for you through and in His Son, Jesus Christ. Here are some of the riches your heavenly Father bestows on you. God โ€œhas blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christโ€ (Ephesians 1:3). Jesus โ€œchose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in loveโ€ (Ephesians 1:4). โ€œGod predestined youโ€ฆto adoption as sonsโ€ฆby Jesus Christ to Himselfโ€ฆaccording to the good pleasure of His willโ€ (Ephesians 1:5).

Here is more wonderful news:
= Youโ€™ve been crowned with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
= Your blessings are spiritual, not material ones that fade and deteriorate. = = Your riches in Christ are everlasting.
= You have vast spiritual wealth in Christ.
= You have all the benefits that come from having God for your heavenly Father.
= And you have everything you need to grow spiritually.

Too often, we think of praying simply as a request for things, reducing it to a mere transaction with God.

But prayer is far more than presenting our needs and desires before Him.

While the Bible encourages us to bring our petitions to the Lord, prayer is not just about getting something from God.

Prayer is meant to draw us into a deeper fellowship with our Heavenly Father.

Itโ€™s where we pour out our hearts, but itโ€™s also where we listen for His still small voice.

When we reduce prayer to a list of requests, we run the risk of making it a self-centered exercise, forgetting that it is in prayer that we align our hearts with the will of God.

We must remember that prayer is not primarily about what we want, but about what God desires.

As Jesus taught us, we pray, "Thy will be done."

True prayer transforms our hearts to seek first His kingdom, to desire His glory above our own, and to find rest in His sovereign plan.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Psalm 107 teaches us that no matter what our circumstances and no matter what caused those circumstances, God is ready to help us.

If we have wandered off and gotten lost (whether intentionally or not), or if we have deliberately disobeyed God's Word, or if we have gone beyond the boundaries of God's will for our lives, or if we are experiencing a natural calamity -- there are consequences.

But if we will recognize that we cannot help ourselves and that God is the only One who can help us, and if we will cry out to Him in submissive dependence and trust, God will always respond and help.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! Psalm 107:8,15,21,31.
