In the Dispensational Age of Grace, the local church is the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27), and the pastor is Godโs appointed overseer (1 Timothy 3:1โ2) who teaches sound doctrine according to the revelation of the mystery (Romans 16:25).
Yet many saints forget their duty toward their pastor โ not to exalt him above Christ, but to edify, encourage, and enable him in the work of the ministry.
Let us see from Scripture how the believer today can biblically take care of his pastor in the dispensation of grace.
๐ 1 Timothy 3:1; Acts 20:28; Ephesians 4:11โ12
A. A Divine Appointment โ God Himself places pastors as overseers; it is not a profession, but a divine position.
B. A Doctrinal Assignment โ His duty is to rightly divide the Word (2 Timothy 2:15), teaching sound doctrine.
C. A Dispensational Alignment โ He must preach the gospel given to Paul (Galatians 1:11โ12), not Israelโs program.
Taking care of your pastor begins by recognizing that his role is a calling from Christ, not a human title.
๐ Hebrews 13:7,17; 1 Thessalonians 5:12โ13
A. A Spiritual Leadership โ He watches for your souls as one who must give account.
B. A Scriptural Loyalty โ Respect his teaching as long as it aligns with Pauline truth.
C. A Submissive Learning โ Obedience brings peace in the church body.
๐ก Respect is not worship โ itโs recognizing his God-given oversight in the Age of Grace.
19; Galatians 6:6
A. A Faithful Support โ โThe laborer is worthy of his reward.โ Support your pastor financially.
B. A Fruitful Supply โ Paul praised the Philippians for ministering to his needs.
C. A Fellowship of Sharing โ Those taught the Word should share all good things with their teacher.
Taking care of your pastor means meeting his needs, so he can meet yours spiritually.
17; Romans 15:32; Philemon 1:7
A. A Ministry of Encouragement โ Like Onesiphorus, comfort him through fellowship.
B. A Motivation in the Fight โ Ministry is spiritual warfare; your prayers strengthen him.
C. A Moment of Rest โ Allow your pastor time to renew his body and mind.
A refreshed pastor will refresh the flock โ itโs the grace of mutual edification.
2 Timothy 2:2; Titus 2:1; Acts 17:11
A. A Consistent Teaching โ Stand firm with him in Pauline sound doctrine.
B. A Confirming Testimony โ Live the truths he teaches to reinforce the message.
C. A Cooperative Teamwork โ Help spread his teaching ministry through your witness.
Support his message, not your personal opinions. Truth must travel through faithful men.
๐ 2 Timothy 4:14โ15; Ephesians 6:12; 2 Corinthians 10:4โ5
A. A Spiritual Warfare โ Protect your pastor through prayer and truth, not carnal fight.
B. A Scriptural Defense โ Defend his teaching from false doctrines and divisive men.
C. A Steadfast Faithfulness โ Stand with him when others fall away from the truth.
In the dispensation of grace, pastors face opposition from within and without โ be his armor-bearer in truth.
๐ Philippians 4:1; 1 Thessalonians 2:19โ20; 2 Corinthians 3:2โ3
A. A Spiritual Heritage โ The church is his โjoy and crown.โ
B. A Sincere Gratitude โ Rejoice when souls are saved and saints are edified.
C. A Shared Glory โ In the Judgment Seat of Christ, your faithfulness benefits both.
๐ก A pastorโs joy is a fruitful flock walking in grace, truth, and spiritual maturity.

Beloved, in this Age of Grace, our pastors are not prophets of Israel, but stewards of the mystery (1 Corinthians 4:1).
They labor for our spiritual growth in the truth revealed to Paul.
Let us recognize, respect, reward, and refresh them โ for by doing so, we honor Christ Himself, who called them.
Pray daily for your pastor.
Send him encouragement, not criticism.
Support his ministry joyfully and faithfully.
Study the Word he teaches and live it out.
Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.โ โ 1 Timothy 5:17
