Exhale Youth Group at Salem UCC in Alhambra is open to all current 6th through 12th graders.

Day one working with Tiny Pine Foundation! They build tiny homes and donate them to people who lost their homes in the fire. This particular house was just about done with drywall so we finished hanging, mudding, taping, and sanding.
The kids were up and ready an hour early due to the time change, so we squeezed in a game of Nertz!

Mission Trip 2026 to California has officially begun!!
Our first day selfie looks a little different this year since we are flying, but still keeping the tradition alive!

Please keep this group of amazing, hardworking kids in your prayers as they are doing God’s work.

And we can’t thank the congregation of Salem enough for supporting our group and making this trip possible!

We will be posting work pictures throughout the week if you want to keep up with what Exhale is doing. 💜

Last mission trip of the summer! Another great Shannondale trip in the books…this year we brought back the canoe trip! So fun! And the kids (and adults) worked hard too…clearing Inspiration Point, which had really overgrown, making it almost unusable. Love seeing the kids do God’s work!

☀️ We had a super hot and fun week with Exhale Youth Group! This incredible team returned once again to serve with Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders—and this time, they traded chainsaws for paintbrushes as they helped finish two homes for families recovering from disaster.

This incredible group has served with us in both Kentucky and North Carolina, and even showed up for immediate tornado response in Western KY during Memorial Day weekend 2024. Their hard work—trimming, caulking, painting, hanging doors, installing vanities, and more—helped push these homes over the finish line! 🏠✨

We’re so grateful for volunteers who keep coming back—“boomerangers” who bring energy, joy, and a heart for service.

You don’t need special skills to be a hero. Join us in rebuilding homes, restoring hope, and walking alongside families who’ve lost so much. 💙

We are on our way home!!
This group never stops amazing me! They helped so many people affected by Hurricane Helene while we were here. We met Mark, who held on to the porch post while floating in water holding his 82 year old mother for over 3 hours, and Michael, who had to swim his family out through their flooded house to get onto the roof. We helped a few other people who were devastated in the storm also.
In the moment, it may have felt like we were just sanding drywall or putting up trim, but in the bigger picture of these people’s lives, we were getting them one step closer to getting back to some kind of normal.
This group became an even closer family! We are returning home revived and refueled!
