Knights of Columbus - Council 11091

Knights of Columbus - Council 11091 are again hosting a Thanksgiving Day dinner in McDonnell Hall for up to 40 United States Navy Recruits. The recruits come from Great Lakes Naval Station, located in Lake County, home to the Navy’s only Navy boot camp.

For many of the young recruits this is their first time away from Family on a major holiday. The Adopt-A-Sailor event provides a traditional Thanksgiving Day feast, ability to reconnect with family and friends via the donated phones and computers, and a few hours of time to just relax and unwind away from the stresses of boot camp.

This is all made possible from the generous donations from many St. Margaret Mary Parishioners. We need donations of Thanksgiving Day menu items (a family favorite of your choice), that can be dropped off at McDonnell Hall in advance or on T-day. The Knights also welcome everyone to stop by to welcome and socialize with the recruits or to help with the set-up serving and clean-up.

Today we helped one of our own... We cut up limbs from a brother Knight's tree that was damaged in the storm a couple weeks ago.

Here are some pictures from the bags tournament tonight. We had 9 players for a beautiful evening of bags. It was Nick and Jerry in an epic battle requiring the second match to determine the winner. Nick came out victorious winning the big prize. It was a good time had by all for these tournaments this summer.

As a reminder, we won't have a tournament in September.

Our council was also busy today spring St. Margaret Mary Summerfest! Thanks to all who assisted in continuing to welcome all in our parish and make it feel like home to all!

This week we had a busy week of doing Knightly things. First...we tore down and removed a swing set for a parishioner in need of assistance.

The Knights of Columbus are hosting a blood drive from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM in McDonnell Hall! 🩸

To give blood you must be 17 years old or older and in good health and bring a photo ID. You can also give blood if you are age 16 with the written consent of a parent. Refreshments and snacks will be served.

Come and help cut out Nativity sets and our other products every Wednesday night at 7:00pm. 😊
