CACS would like to extend our greatest congratulations to the graduating class of 2026! We are especially proud of our student employees, Daniel Bentley and Nonhlanhla Shezi, whose work ethic created a culture of collaboration and hospitality in our office. You two and your fellow graduates will be dearly missed.

And now a special congratulations to Nonhlanhla, who was awarded this year's Anglican Communion Prize! This award is given to a graduating student demonstrating outstanding commitment to the mission of God through World Anglicanism, and Nonhlanhla absolutely embodies that truth.

The Companions of the Center for Anglican Communion Studies (CACS) is a free membership program at Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) designed to connect people globally with the work of the Center. The Annual Companions Dinner is a special opportunity to honor the members of our community whose dedication to learning about the Anglican Communion inspires us to keep doing this work.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Bishop Daniel Gutierrez of the Diocese of Pennsylvania for serving as our guest speaker for the evening. Your presence and wisdom left us inspired, energized, and ready to continue the meaningful work of building community, one encounter at a time.

We are also deeply grateful to Archbishop Ben-Smith of the Church of the Province of West Africa for joining us, and to Dean Markham for opening your home with such warm and gracious hospitality.

We are truly honored to be surrounded by such passionate Companions and friends. If you’d like to stay connected and be part of what’s ahead, consider becoming a Companion today!

Yesterday, CACS hosted a wonderful event showcasing this year’s Cross-Cultural Education Program presentations on Türkiye, featuring Puja Khanna, Anna Beth Milton, Miranda Peters, and Rev. Jeff Hual. Rev. Jeff Hual, CCEP organizer and VTS Graduate, helps to support these women through UYUM and the Knitting For Hope program (seen in the photos below!)

Each presenter did a phenomenal job sharing their experiences in Türkiye, highlighting meaningful moments of interfaith and intercultural exchange, and reflecting on how those experiences have shaped their perspectives on the world.

Interested in being part of this transformative program next year? Reach out to the CACS Office or to the presenters to learn more about their journeys and how you can get involved.
