"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:19

When it comes to change, many can find them challenging. Yet in God our "new things" must always be anchored in the "Old Paths." If God says He is doing a new thing, we can trust it is consistent with His unchanging Word. This "new thing" is not a new gospel or a new doctrine, but a new work of grace in the life of the Believer. Just as baptism by immersion symbolizes a burial of the old life and a resurrection to "newness of life," God’s work in our future is a continuation of that transformative power. Notice the text says, "I will do a new thing." We often fear new seasons because we feel we must "make it happen". Be encouraged: the Architect of your life is the one taking the initiative. Here God asks, "Shall ye not know it?" Through the Priesthood of the Believer, we have direct access to God. We don't need a middleman to tell us where God is moving; the Holy Spirit indwelling is will give us the peace and discernment to "know it" as it springs forth. A "wilderness" or "desert" is where we usually expect to fail. Yet, God promises a Way and Rivers. Our new job, new move, or new ministry may look like a desert right now, but God’s sovereign provision is not restricted by our circumstances. Don't let the "former things" of past failures or even past successes keep you from what God has "now". Stand firm on the promises of God’s Word and step boldly into this new season that He is opening up to you. If He has called you to it, He has already paved the "way in the wilderness" for you.

"As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him." 2 Samuel 22:31

This verse serves as a powerful reminder that while our lives often feel messy or uncertain, God operates with a level of precision and protection that we can lean on. When the world feels chaotic, 2 Samuel 22:31 anchors us with three distinct promises. First, His Way is Perfect. We often struggle to see the "why" behind our current circumstances. However, God’s perspective is eternal. His timing isn't just "good," it is flawless. Even when the path looks winding to us, it is a straight line to His purpose for our lives.
Second, His Word is Tried. The Bible isn't a collection of theories; it is a record of proven promises. The word "Tried" means it has been refined in the fire and found true. You can stake your hope on His word because it has never failed a single soul who leaned on it. Finally, He is a Buckler. A buckler is a small, versatile shield used for close-combat defense. This tells us that God isn't just a distant protector; He is intimately involved in our daily battles. He is intercepting the arrows of worry and fear before they can strike at our heart. Today, stop trying to perfect your own path and instead rest in the One whose way is already perfect. If you feel exposed or vulnerable, remember that you have a "buckler" wrapped around you. Your only job is to trust.

"It may be that the LORD will look on mine affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day."
2 Samuel 16:12

David was at his lowest, fleeing for his life from his own son, when a man named Shimei began pelting him with stones and shouting bitter curses. Rather than retaliating with his military power, David uttered these words of profound surrender. David learned a valuable in letting GOD reveal those who attack His own. When adversaries berate you, the natural instinct is to defend your reputation or strike back. However, David reveals a higher strategy: entrusting your defense to the Only Just Judge. Remember, we are never alone in the line of fire. David trusted that God was watching the injustice. When you are unfairly criticized, take heart knowing that God’s silence is not absence; He is recording every word. David hoped for a "requital," a divine repayment. He understood that if he endured the "cursing" with humility rather than rage, God could transform that momentary bitterness into a future blessing. This comes when we learn to surrender the "right to revenge." By refusing to silence Shimei, David positioned himself to receive God’s grace and mercy. When we stop trying to vindicate ourselves, we give God the space to do it for us. As 1 Peter 3:9 instructs us. By rendering (provide, give, deliver) blessing to those who speak evil, rail, accuse, and gossip, we surrender vengeance to the One who is better at it. We keep our hearts tender so that He can continue to guide us. Is there a "Shimei" in your life right now? Instead of crafting a rebuttal, let God. Your affliction is the very ground where God plants the seeds of your future "good."

"Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost." — Romans 15:13

Joy is not a fleeting emotion based on circumstance; it is part of the fruit of the indwelling Holy Spirit. For the believer, this joy is a "threefold cord" that cannot be easily broken, moving in three vital directions. First the Upward Joy in His Presence. True joy begins by looking away from self and the world to the Sovereign God. Joy is found in the very presence of God (Psalm 16:11). We rejoice in who He is: His holiness, His mercy, and His unchanging Word. We stand on the Word, finding joy in the absolute authority of the Bible, which reveals our Savior clearly. When the world is dark, LOOK Up!! (Luke 21:28). Next the Inward Joy in Our Position.
Once we look upward, the Holy Spirit works an inward transformation. Our joy is internal because it is rooted in our settled position in Christ. We rejoice that our names are "written in heaven". This inward joy is our fortification against trial. "For the joy of the Lord is your strength." It is a joy "unspeakable and full of glory," anchored in the fact that we are saved, sealed, and secure. Finally, the Outward Joy in Our Purpose. Inward joy cannot be contained; it must flow outward to a lost and dying world. Our outward life should reflect the inward reality. We are commanded to "rejoice evermore," so that others may see the light of the glorious gospel. There is no greater outward joy than seeing souls saved and walking in truth. We serve others not out of drudgery, but with gladness (Psalm 100:2), knowing that our labor is not in vain in the Lord. Is your joy lagging today? Check your direction. Look Upward to His face, Inward to your grace-given position, and Outward to your God-given race.

"A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left. Yea also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way, his wisdom faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a fool." Ecclesiastes 10:2-3

In this passage of Scripture, God provides a clear contrast between the path of the wise and the path of the foolish. As believers, we know that the "heart" is the seat of our affections, our decisions, our will, and our walk with the Lord. The Bible says the wise man’s heart is at his right hand. In Scripture, the right hand is the position of strength, favor, and skill. When our heart is "at your right hand," it means our affections are governed by God’s Word, leading to right living. The fool, however, lets his heart lean to the left, the side of weakness and wandering. If we don’t intentionally set our hearts on things above, we will naturally drift toward the world. We cannot hide a foolish heart for long. Solomon observes that even as the fool "walketh by the way," his lack of spiritual wisdom becomes obvious to everyone. He doesn't have to say a word; his actions, his priorities, and his lack of discernment shout his character to the world. Christian, take heart! You don't have to rely on your own flickering intellect to be wise. By staying grounded in the Precious Word of God and yielding to the Holy Spirit, your heart can stay in that "right" place. When your heart is right with LORD, your daily walk will reflect His wisdom, and you will be a light to those lost in the darkness of foolishness.
Keep your eyes on the Savior and your hand in the Book. When the Lord has your heart, He will surely direct your steps.

"Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."
John 14:23

In a world that equates love with a fleeting feeling, our Lord Jesus Christ gives us a definitive, biblical standard. For the believer, love is not measured by the height of our emotions, but by the depth of our obedience.
As Children of God, we should hold fast to the absolute authority of God’s Word. This verse reminds us that if we truly love the Savior, we won't treat His commands as suggestions. We won't pick and choose which scriptures to follow based on culture or convenience. Instead, we will "keep" His words, guarding them, honoring them, and living them out daily.
The encouragement here is found in the promise of fellowship. When we prioritize obedience to the Bible, we enjoy a sweet, settled communion with the Triune God. He doesn’t just visit; He makes His "abode" with us., and we fulfill His command to abide in Him. We can face any trial, any persecution, and any "mountain" because the Father and the Son have taken up residence in our heart and life.
When we feel distant from God, don't look for a new experience; look back to His Word. Let us renew your commitment to faithful obedience to Him, daily, and we will find His presence closer than ever before.

“But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me. For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.” Psalm 109:21–22

David’s prayer begins with a humble request: “But do thou for me.” He is not trusting in his own strength or righteousness. Instead, he casts himself completely upon the Lord. This is the attitude God desires from His people. Scripture has long emphasized the truth that our help does not come from human effort but from the Lord Himself. David also appeals to God “for thy name’s sake.” His request is not merely about comfort, it is about God’s glory. When God delivers His people, His character and faithfulness are displayed to the world. When we pray, our greatest desire should be that God’s name be honored through our lives and circumstances, whether through deliverance, endurance, or testimony.
David’s plea rests on one powerful truth: “because thy mercy is good.” God’s mercy is not uncertain or temporary it is good, perfect, and dependable. The word mercy speaks of God’s lovingkindness toward those who do not deserve it. Salvation itself rests upon this mercy. We are not saved by works, but by the grace and mercy of God through faith. Even after salvation, believers still depend daily upon that same mercy. When we fail, when we struggle, when we feel overwhelmed, we can come boldly to God because His mercy remains good. David then confesses his true condition: “I am poor and needy”. He recognizes his complete dependence upon God. “My heart is wounded within me”. He admits his inner pain. David’s honesty in prayer shows us that God invites His children to bring their brokenness to Him. When we admit our need, we place ourselves in the position where God can demonstrate His strength.
Some of the deepest prayers come from wounded hearts.
