We're simply disciples seeking to live in and for Jesus. We learn about Jesus through God's story, especially the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. But we also learn about Jesus from one another: living, praying, working together in the faith. You're invited to share the open way that follows Jesus and leads to life: your own and others.

The North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church welcomed its first female bishop. Debra Wallace-Padgett was installed during a Sunday service at Canterbury United Methodist Church.

On behalf of disciples at Stepping Stone, welcome Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett to the North Alabama Conference; in the Installation Service, it is now the offering of gifts after the Word proclaimed. Praise be to God for the gift and work of the Holy Spirit in, among and through us!

North Alabama United Methodists will hold a Service Celebrating the Episcopal Assignment of Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett on Sunday, October 7, 2012. Bishop Wallace-Padgett will preach during this communion service.

The gifts of shared faith are quite wonderful and beyond my mathematic ability to count! Tonight, we step forward with the first fruit of the Spirit: LOVE! The symbolic fruit is a bowl of cherries--we'll have at least one for you to top your dessert right before we 'dig in' to the interactive learning session. Supper @ 6 p.m. See you soon!

Small groups begin Wednesday, September 5. "The Beginning" at 9:00 a.m. and "Fruit of the Spirit" (children, youth, adults) after supper at 6 p.m.

What a weekend! Thanks be to God! Let us offer prayers for all children, teachers and support staff. May the first day jitters give way to joy; may new friends and old friends smile and be kind; may the '12-13 academic year receive all 'A's for progress and memorable experiences. And like King Solomon--may we live in God's wise, discerning ways.
