“It is the height of hypocrisy for those who have wrapped their religion in whiteness, deified white identity, and baptized white supremacy in the name of Jesus, to accuse Black people of putting race above the kingdom simply because we affirm our God-given dignity and celebrate the divine beauty of our Blackness.

Let’s be clear — no one has placed race above Christianity more than the architects of the myth of whiteness. No one has lifted color over the kingdom more consistently than the empire builders who fashioned a white Jesus, painted white angels, and populated Scripture with white biblical characters. That wasn’t theological fidelity — it was cultural theft, colonial propaganda, and doctrinal whitewashing.”

I think I just wrote one of the most important songs I’ve ever written. Along with the Spirit, I could feel the ancestors in the booth while writing to this track created by my Ghanaian brother. When I first heard this music my blood and my bones responded to it so significantly that it caused pause and then bewilderment. I stood in the booth with no words coming to me. That’s never happened and I’ve written hundreds of songs. I didn’t know what this bewildering pause that had me in a deadlock meant. Now that it’s complete I finally understand. It’s called “Overcomer”. We are indeed overcomers that no one can conquer. I know things are bad for many now but know that you are an Overcomer and no matter what this government do you gonna ultimately walk through it and end up better.

Mentors

Today's Word:
So Elisha…took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered them. He burned the plowing equipment to cook the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he set out to follow Elijah and became his servant.
1 Kings 19:21, NIV

Today's Word:
Elisha was out working in the fields when the prophet Elijah came by and called him to join him. Elisha saw something in Elijah that he wanted. He saw the favor on his life and how Elijah was doing great things. He recognized that being with Elijah could make a difference in his life. So he left what he’d been doing and served Elijah faithfully. When Elijah went to heaven, Elisha asked for and received a double portion of Elijah’s anointing. But if Elisha would have stayed around the people he grew up with, he would not have done twice as many miracles as Elijah. You need people in your life who are further along than you, people who have a bigger vision, people who are more experienced, people who have what you want. You need to be exposed to new levels so you can go to new levels. You need good mentors who have been where you want to go. Get around dreamers, connect with people who are more talented, more successful, and glean from them.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You that You have already lined up these favor connections for me. Thank You for the people You’ve set in place to help me go further. Help me to disconnect from people who are hindering my growth and to connect with people who are favored. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Chosen

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles.
Luke 6:13, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:
When Jesus chose His disciples, He didn’t go to the synagogue to find the candidates with the best credentials. He didn’t run an ad on ZipRecruiter to get the most qualified. He chose Peter, a hot-tempered fisherman who cursed people out. He chose Matthew, a despised tax collector who was known for being dishonest. What if Jesus would have hired a consulting firm to review His choices? “We’re sorry, but none of the twelve men You submitted are qualified to be disciples. Peter is given to fits of rage. Thomas has a doubting spirit that undermines morale. Matthew has integrity issues and is blacklisted by the Jerusalem Better Business Bureau.” Jesus took all that into account and still chose them, just as He has chosen you. Get this down in your spirit: You’ve been chosen by the Creator of the universe. You belong to God’s family. He calls you a masterpiece, fearfully and wonderfully made. Don’t let fear, insecurity, or guilt keep you from your greatness. Step up to who God created you to be.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:🙏🏽
“Father, thank You that You see world changers in rugged fishermen like Peter. Thank You that You chose me and You’re working in my life just as You did in Peter and the other disciples. I am looking beyond my flaws and failures to see the masterpiece in the making. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

An Amazing Future

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
Ephesians 1:4–5, NLT

TODAY'S WORD:
Thoughts will whisper to you, “There’s nothing special about you. You’re not important. You’re just one of the eight billion people on earth.” No, God chose you to be here. He has an assignment for your life. You need to feel that sense of destiny, that sense of God’s pleasure in giving you purpose. Your life matters. There’s something significant for you to accomplish. At times, it will feel as though you’re stuck, the obstacles are too big, the sickness is too great, the pressure is too much. But you have to remind yourself that the Creator of the universe is not only with you right now, but He’s been orchestrating things in your favor for generations. God wouldn’t have given you breath to breathe if He didn’t have an amazing future for you. That’s why you can stay in peace. That’s why you can sleep well at night. You’re not doing life on your own. You’re a part of a much bigger plan. You keep being faithful and you’re going to see what God has been working on for generations.

PRAYER FOR TODAY :🙏🏽
“Father, thank You that in the midst of a very insecure world that I can rest in the security of knowing that You chose me before You created the world. Thank You that my life has purpose, my life matters. I believe that it is Your great pleasure to give me an amazing future. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

It’s Your Words

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 91:2, ESV

TODAY”S WORD:
Your words are powerful. In today’s Scripture, after the psalmist declares that the Lord is his refuge and fortress, he gives a list of the great things that will happen. God will shield you from evil. He will rescue you from every trap. He will protect you from enemies. But seven verses later, it puts a condition on it. “If you say, ‘The Lord is my refuge,’ and make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you. For He will give his angels charge over you to guard you in all your ways.” It doesn’t say, “If you believe He’s your refuge” or “If you think He’s your shield.” No, something supernatural happens when you say it. “God, thank You that You’re my protector. Thank You that You’re my provider, my healer, my way maker. Thank You that You’re bigger than what I’m facing. Thank You that You’re bringing my dreams to pass.” When you say it, the Creator of the universe goes to work. Now do your part and confidently speak it out. The miracle is in your mouth.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:🙏🏽
“Father, thank You for being my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. I speak it out loud because I know that it’s true and I believe that You will deliver and protect me. Help me to release my faith and declare that my dreams are coming to pass. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
