For more than a decade, our MakeMeals program has been a simple way for our community to turn compassion into action.

This Sunday, volunteers came together to prepare and distribute warm meals to our neighbors in need right here in our local community. Along with the meals, hygiene kits assembled by community members were also handed out, helping provide essential items and a little extra care to those we serve.

May Allah accept from everyone who donated, volunteered, assembled hygiene kits, prepared meals, and supports this effort in any way.

Spend more time outdoors with MakeSpace and reconnect with Allah’s beautiful creation!

Whether you’re new to hiking or seasoned on the trail, the MakeSpace Hiking Club is open to everyone. Our goal is to explore the DMV’s stunning hiking spots, push ourselves a little, and build community along the way.

About Turkey Run – Turkey Run & Potomac Heritage Trail:
Turkey Run offers one of the more adventurous hiking experiences in Northern Virginia, winding through wooded trails alongside streams and leading toward the Potomac River. The trail features scenic river views, boardwalk sections, small stream crossings, and light rock scrambling that gives it a more rugged feel. It’s a great option for anyone looking to enjoy nature while adding a little adventure to the hike.

Hike Details:
🔹️Distance & Difficulty: 3.1 Miles. Moderate to challenging terrain with uneven paths, stream crossings, and some light rock scrambling. Ideal for hikers looking for a bit more activity and adventure.
🔹️Entrance Fee Required
🔹️ What to Bring: Sturdy shoes (hiking boots recommended), water, snacks, dress for weather, and a positive mindset!
🔹️Time: Please try to arrive 10 minutes early so we can start on time.

⚠️Children are welcome but must be actively supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

We're excited to welcome back Tuqa Nusairat, the Executive Director of the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU) for a special edition of our MIMS Halaqa on Monday, June 1st at 7pm at MakeSpace.

Tuqa Nusairat is responsible for the ISPU's overall leadership, representation, strategy, and growth. A recognized leader in the American Muslim community, she brings several decades of experience in civic engagement, advocacy, organizational management, and youth development.

Imam Zia and Tuqa will be discussing the topic of "The State of American Muslims: National Research, Local Reflections"
