The day after John the Baptist was murdered at a dinner party, Jesus throws a dinner for five thousand people that enacts what the kingdom of heaven is like -- everyone eats and is satisfied with plenty left over, whether we have brought enough to the table doesn't matter, and the host demands no one's life but offers his own. Come join us for worship as Jesus enacts the kingdom of heaven once again among us. 9:30 Sunday in person or on YouTube.

This Sunday we'll read and reflect on another parable of Jesus -- wheat and weeds growing together in the field, impossible to separate before the harvest. Rooting out evil without harming the good is impossible for humans - in society, in relationships, and in our selves - but all things are possible for God. Come join us (and our VBS students and families from the past week) with your wheat and your weeds! 9:30 a.m. Sunday, in person or on YouTube.

Epiphany Lutheran Church is inviting the whole community to beat the summer heat by celebrating Christmas in July with us on Friday evening, July 31.

We will gather to sing some Christmas carols, enjoy a visit from Santa Claus, and share some Christmas treats and the Christmas spirit with our neighbors!

Please bring a gift of nonperishable food, hygiene products, or cash that will be shared with our local food pantries - the needs of our community are year round, not just in the (winter) holiday season.

Our God is absolutely faithful - and utterly unpredictable. This Sunday we'll start reading gospel narratives about parables of Jesus, stories that don't illustrate simple lessons but that challenge us to wrestle with the unpredictable ways that God is faithful, merciful, and compassionate to us and our neighbors. Come worship with us this Sunday - 9:30 a.m., in person or on YouTube. We have a place here for you!

Jesus says: "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." But on this 250th Independence Day, we celebrate the casting off of yokes - not accepting even an easy one. Can we find a faith that isn't a heavy burden of guilt and shame, but that sets us free to love and serve and forgive? Come join us for our regular Sunday service on this special weekend in our country's life. 9:30 a.m. in person or on YouTube. Everyone is welcome and included here (yes, even you!).

Our gospel reading this Sunday is a word of consolation from Jesus -- no matter what happens, no matter what conflicts may divide you even within your own family, God knows your pain (as God watches over even the sparrows!), the truth will prevail, your destiny is healing and life, don't be afraid. A message for Father's Day, a message for Pride weekend, a message for our conflicted times, a message for everyone. Come join us for a word and a gesture of peace. Sunday at 9:30 a.m., in person or on YouTube.

When Jesus saw that people were “harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd,” he sent out the twelve apostles - but not to be shepherds, rather to be “sheep among wolves.” If you feel harassed and helpless, we don’t want to tell you what to do; we are called to walk with you as fellow sheep. Come graze with us on Sunday at 9:30, in person or online.

Our gospel story this week features three people who, in their time and place, would have expected rejection or judgment from religious people - because of their jobs, their bodies, or their pain. But they weren’t afraid of Jesus. God’s compassion is bigger than ours, and we’re trying to catch up. Come join us in experiencing God’s welcome and learning to be welcoming ourselves. Sunday at 9:30, in person or on YouTube.

In Matthew's gospel, when the risen Jesus appears for the final time to his disciples, we are told that "they worshipped and they doubted" - literally in the Greek, they "wavered." And things haven't changed - when we gather for worship, we also at the same time waver, not sure whether we really believe. And the mission Jesus gives them - to enter into the life of God, to enter into the community of the Triune God - is addressed to all of us who worship and who waver. Come worship and waver with us, come enter into communion with us and with God, this Sunday, 9:30 a.m. in person and on YouTube. Everybody is welcome and included at Epiphany (yes, even you!).
