Thank you William!! What a perfect lesson on Generosity and the timing for what is going on today in our world.

Our United Way just set up a Community Crisis Fund this week to take care of our community who have been impacted from the COVID19. You can give if you can by either writing a check to United Way and on the memo line put COVID or disaster etc. Our address is P O Box 876, Alexander City AL 35011. Or you can donate can goods as we have boxes at Piggly Wiggly in Alex City and New Site, Winn Dixie and Renfroes in Dadeville oh and at my office. We have a box inside the front door. I am just starting to hear stories and it breaks your heart.

On our prayer list week please remember Nelda Hayes who is Tracy Teel, Teresa Burns and Todd Hayes mother. Mrs Nelda is a at Chapman Nursing home. She and 6 others did test positive for the COVID and are at The hospital in Dadeville right now.
Please pray for all our world, our nation, our state, our community, our church and all of our families to stay safe during these trying scary times.

Praises.
Steve’s mom Elois Fuller is better from her pneumonia and being in the hospital with her heart.
Mary’s mother Daisy Collins is in Chapman’s Assisted Living. She and the others at the assisted living got tested and all were negative. Yay
A personal praise. Steve and I are celebrating our 40 year anniversary today by enjoying being home and feeling so blessed. We love each of your dearly!

Have a safe week and enjoy Holy Week at home. And for Easter Sunday where ever you are, call in at 8:00 to hear a wonderful story about Easter.

Great hearing from so many this morning! Thank you Willie and Sharon for continuing to study and providing us with a great lesson on courage! As discussed, we need to continue our offerings to the church and to our class. If you would like to send your offering to the Upper Room Class, mail your check to Mary Harrison at 8833 Elkahatchee Road, 35010. Make your check payable to FUMC-Upper Room Class.

The Old Testament has a story about a walled city . I think everybody knows the story of how the walls came tumbling down after they shouted . I heard a song today "hallelujah the walls came tumbling down ."
This virus has put up a lot of walls . So I suggest that everyday at 5 PM we shout a HALLELUJAH to our Lord .

Hey it worked a long time ago.
May peace and grace be with you .

Hello class,

Hope everyone saw the email from Tammy yesterday with the church’s responses to the virus. These are great projects and I hope to assist (while I am now working from home).

Local nursing homes and assisted living facilities can have no visitors. What if we blessed the residents with cheery cards? There are many folks that have no regular visitors. Hopefully the activities director could route cards to people if you don’t know anyone personally.

Just an idea.. thanks for listening!
Mary

I hope this Sunday morning finds all of you coping as best you can. We just finished sofa church at Trinity . As usual brother Mike delivered a wonderful service . I hope you will find time to watch one of the services today .
Next Sunday will be our first try at the upper room class phone conference small group.
Please watch touching lives with James Merritt at 7:30am on charter/spectrum channel 10 . The message will be on courage . We will follow with a conference call at 8 am .
Phone conference number -978-990-5000
Access code-245153. It will ask for the access code

Connection doesn't begin until the host (me) signs on .i will try to be early .

Sharon and I tested all this morning . I sent her the wrong phone number . She watched the wrong channel. Maybe we have some of the bugs worked out but please have patience with us .
I look forward to hearing everyone's voices.

"Then [after Jesus ascended to Heaven] the apostles returned to Jerusalem... and they all joined together constantly in prayer along with the women..." (Acts 1:12-14) "For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them." (Matt 18:20) Our church sanctuaries have to sit empty and quiet these days, but, like the early Christians, we can still find ways to worship together. "Story is told of an old man who had a habit of walking on the beach every morning. One such morning, after an overnight storm, he found the beach littered with dead and dying starfish. He also noticed a small boy approaching, who was occasionally bending down and throwing a starfish back into the ocean. As he came near, the old man said, 'There must be thousands of starfish on this beach - you don’t really think you can make any difference, do you?' To which the boy threw another one out to sea, smiled and replied, 'I'll bet I made a difference for that one!' " (Loren Eiseley) We may not number as many these days as we worship individually and stay in touch by way of technology, but with the grace of our Lord, we can continue to make a lifesaving difference to those who wish to live in His kingdom. Stay close! (Matt 18:10-14 and 2 Pet 3:9)

Hope this Monday that all is well with the group .
It appears that we will not be seeing each other for several weeks but that doesn't mean we can't communicate or worship together .
Below are a few suggestions . We also need suggestions from each of you .
1. Create an ACFUMC upper room page . It could be used to stay in touch , keep all of us updated , and lesson discussions . Setting this up is beyond my limited capabilities . We are looking for a willing expert within the group.
2. Sunday morning teleconference. We would have a quick lesson and a short discussion .
3 . James Merritt continues with his series on character . This could serve as the lesson for the next few weeks . It can be seen at 7:30 am cdt on Sunday on spectrum channel 10. It is TBN.
This could be followed by a teleconference.

Please let us know if you have interest and would plan to participate if we are able to set this up.
Lastly be reminded that all Sunday morning services are available on line . I thought Barry and Mike both did a great job yesterday . Church from the sofa felt a little different but it worked .
I did feel holy . Then I realized that I had on holey blue jeans and holey underwear .
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on how we can best move forward during this difficult time . May grace and peace be with you .
