"Then [after Jesus ascended to Heaven] the apostles returned to Jerusalem... and they all joined together constantly in prayer along with the women..." (Acts 1:12-14) "For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them." (Matt 18:20) Our church sanctuaries have to sit empty and quiet these days, but, like the early Christians, we can still find ways to worship together. "Story is told of an old man who had a habit of walking on the beach every morning. One such morning, after an overnight storm, he found the beach littered with dead and dying starfish. He also noticed a small boy approaching, who was occasionally bending down and throwing a starfish back into the ocean. As he came near, the old man said, 'There must be thousands of starfish on this beach - you don’t really think you can make any difference, do you?' To which the boy threw another one out to sea, smiled and replied, 'I'll bet I made a difference for that one!' " (Loren Eiseley) We may not number as many these days as we worship individually and stay in touch by way of technology, but with the grace of our Lord, we can continue to make a lifesaving difference to those who wish to live in His kingdom. Stay close! (Matt 18:10-14 and 2 Pet 3:9)
