The book of Genesis is the first book of the Bible. It gives us the creation, initial sin, consequences, and redemption.

Genesis also gives the beginning of Israel as a nation.

Genesis is known for its “children’s stories”, but as adults we can also learn from them!

Challenge yourself to read the book of Genesis and see what you can learn from it that you may not have noticed before.

“And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.”

Let’s talk about the Bible…..

We know what it is..
We know what it’s for..
But what if we don’t really know how to “study” it? We hear all the time “study, read your Bible!”

Being able to dive into the word on your own, and make sure you’re not being led astray is very important. Over the next few weeks - look out for posts about the Bible! And overview if you will…

We are going to start with the Old Testament.

Luke 5:17-26 tells about a man who was paralyzed and his friends lowered him through the roof on a stretcher so he could meet with Jesus.

We’ve all seen the memes, “who your friends are matter”. But isn’t it true?

Where would that man have been without his friends?

His friends were desperate to save him.

He was desperate to be saved.

Sometimes you need a friend to put you on. A stretcher and take you to Jesus.

Sometimes you need to be the friend who puts someone on a stretcher and takes them to Jesus.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were tested and tried to an unbelievable point. Something we can’t even imagine.

They stood firm to the faith and would not worship other idols.

In the end, they converted an entire nation to worshipping God, by standing firm. Not by arguing or any crazy publicity stunt, just by their confidence, their faith.

Stories like this in the Bible are so inspiring to look back on and remember that our trials are nothing new, and many man before us have been delivered by Gods grace.

“You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,”
