Shoppers at our ABQ Albuquerque Thrift Store now have the option to make a donation to support an SVdP program with every purchase.We piloted this program in June and July, and thanks to the incredible generosity of our shoppers, we raised $3,692.04!

These funds were raised to help provide families and children with essential food items while school was out for the summer. With many children relying on school meals for daily nutrition, your support helped bridge the gap and make sure our neighbors had access to nutritious food when they needed it most.

The funds raised in June and July here at our ABQ Thrift Store were distributed to pantries in the following communities to help fight food insecurity through the purpose of proteins, grains, and other essential grocery staples:

• Albuquerque
- International District
• South Valley
- North Valley
• Bernalillo
• La Joya/Sabinal
• Peña Blanca

Thank you to everyone who chose to give. Your generosity is helping make a difference for our neighbors, one purchase at a time.

We recently had the wonderful opportunity to visit the beautiful grounds of a partner nonprofit here in Albuquerque with a mission that deeply resonates with ours: the Center for Action and Contemplation.

If you’ve followed the teachings of the CAC or the work of its founder, Father Richard Rohr, you may recognize the organization’s focus on the powerful connection between spirituality and action, and on putting love into practice through service to our neighbors and the pursuit of justice.

We were so honored by the warm welcome from the CAC team. We toured their beautiful buildings and outdoor spaces, shared ideas about potential partnerships, and had some inspiring conversations about how our work might intersect in meaningful ways.

We were excited to leave with some generously gifted literature to dive into!

“We are so grateful.” These are the words that conclude the thank you note from a neighbor that we were recently able to support; and they are words that our Vincentians (volunteers providing aid to the community through their local parishes) hear regularly. We often say at St. Vincent de Paul that, though we are here to provide service to and alongside our communities, we are the ones who receive the greater blessing in each encounter.

What a gift it is to connect with so many amazing people—to listen, share, and build mutual compassion. Through the smiles, shared stories, and prayers of these visits, we are blessed to walk alongside our neighbors. And for this, we too can say: We are so grateful. 💙

We recently had the opportunity to tour the Deseret Farms Food Pantry, a resource of the Church of Jesus Christ in Central New Mexico (sandwiched between the North Valley and the NE Heights) that will open by appointment on August 4, 2026. Pretty soon, these warehouse shelves will be filled with quality food, diapers, and other essential items. We are so thankful for this new resource center where our neighbors will find essential food items in addition to wrap-around services and referrals that help community members set and reach goals. St. Vincent de Paul will be honored to partner as a referral for eviction prevention, utilities support, food, and clothing.

We would like to thank Sandia National Laboratories for their kindness in partnering with us in our mission to house, clothe, feed, and advocate through a $5,000 Family Stability Grant. 🩵

The entirety of this grant money will go to support our neighbors who are at risk of losing housing or who are working to re-establish secure housing. We work hard every day to connect neighbors with resources that can help families to maintain or regain stability. Thank you for this helpful grant funding, Sandia National Labs!
